Well, I want another piercing. At the moment I only have my lobes done twice and one below the belt. I want my nose done, and I'm considering labret too. To anyone who has either, how would you rate the pain? How easy was the healing? Any problems from lip piercings? Could you speak and eat okay after?

Any other piercing stories?

Would love to hear about your tattoos too. I have one around my wrist, and I'm working on a half sleeve for myself (although I'm not sure about that yet) and a lower arm tat for my boyfriend.

What do you guys have?

I was with my friend when she got her nose done. It was her 3rd time because they messed it up the first 2 times. Third time was the charm. She paid a little more for a wonderful piercer and no infections, no problems nothing. And she didn't feel any pain.

My tongue was funny. No pain and I couldn't talk or eat for a week. Liquid diet of milkshakes and Icees. Tummy was no pain either. Neither were my tattoos. One on my ankle and one on my foot. I think I just have a high tolerance for pain though lmao.

i have 3 piercings on each lobe, i think my ears stick out too much to get my cartilage or anything higher pierced.

i kinda wanted my belly button pierced, but i don't really show it so i figured oh well, plus i heard they are easy infected.

i don't really know much aboutthe ones you listed, what's the labret?

I have 1 tattoo, getting another one very soon. My first one is just a script "A" for my first name, its pretty, i have it on my lower back to the right side.

my sister and i are getting matching ones of two sparrows w/ the possible saying of "defying gravity" or something like that. i'm not sure where to get that, i need a place i can show off but cover up if need be.

any ideas? i thought about incorporating it w/ my current tattoo and maybe getting a script S for my sister and then have the sparrows around it. but i'm not really sure.

i never thought i'd get another one, but they are quiet addicting haha

Just a warning.. do as you like, you only live once, but back when I was 25 I had my lebret pierced, and my eyebrow... among other things..above the belt..HEH.

The lebret piercing got infected from the inside alot, and to this day I still have a lump on my inner lip. On the flip.. the outside I have an indention where the stud use to be. It's hardly noticeable, but I know it's there and I dont like it.

As for my eyebrow, if your not really meaty around your browbone, it will work it's way up to the surface of the skin rather quickly, like months. You can have it repierced, but it will keep doing it. I have a scar from that as well. with makeup they really arn't noticeable, except during the summer when I am tan.. the scars don't tan.

The rest of the year I am so chalky white my husband has called me Chalkasian instead of Caucasian.

The other thing I want to mention, and I by no means am judging you, I did my share of Tats, and I kept some, had others lasered off. But there came a point and time, when I was 30 or so, and regretted some of my more impulsive tats. All of mine were in good taste mind you, I just.. out grew them I guess.

All I am saying is give it a good long hard thought session before you decide exactly what you want for a Tat.. if any at all..and make sure you get it done by a FABOO artist.

I do still have an edge to me, I still wear Trendy clothes, Black sparkly polish on short nails, and kinda rocker jewelry, so I still havn't conformed completely to being assimilated by the Redneck Borg... so if you decide to get work done, take pics and let me live vicariously thru you...

Best of luck!
Zin

i agree, my script A is nice, but i probably didn't need it. i just WANTED a tattoo. that's why i'm trying to incorporate my next one into my current one, because newest one i'm thinking about means a lot to me.

Hahaha I've had my belly pierced for...7 years now? 6? Forgot but anyways, I always have it covered, I don't wear belly shirts and most people don't know I have it. I usually mention it when they notice my tongue ring but yeah..I got it for me, not for other people so I don't give a crap if no one else sees it.

okiron - That description of your friend nose piercing is pretty convincing! I would love to get my tongue done, but the piercer said I have a pretty big vein right down the middle so she might have to pierce it crooked, and I didn't fancy that.

My tat didn't hurt either, I really enjoyed it! My latest piercing hurt like hell though.

amberelizabeth - That sounds like a lovely tat idea. I think you could do a lot with the sparrow and and an "s" I think. I love artist tattoos. If you are on deviantart.com there are a lot of very talented tattoo artists who will help you design it, if you're looking for some ideas.

GoingBackToCali - Thanks for sharing that. My tattoo I thought about for a long time, then an even longer time when I had the final design. Then I stuck it on my wall for a month so I had to look at it everyday to see if I still liked it. The half sleeve will be on my wall for at least a year since it's so big. Same with my piercings, lots of thinking and lots of research! How effective was the lasering? Did it get rid of them fully?

No tattoos yet....I need to save the money, or stop being a whimp and just make the appointment :p! I like to go and watch my fiance get tattooed, he is getting his 2nd huge peice on his upper arm next Friday, he is going for an arm sleeve....and a leg sleeve (knee down)

I have snake bites (two lip piercings) and also a tongue piercing. I am getting two anti-eye brow piercings (below each eye) in the middle of the month (December).

Lip piercings don't hurt, at all...and I got both done one right after the other. I could eat anything I wanted, drink whatever I wanted, and I could talk just fine. It feels weird at first, because you are afraid to move your mouth, but other than that...piece of cake. My lips healed in a week.

My tongue didn't hurt, either. I could drink anything and eat anything afterward, as well. I was told by a lot of people that you can't eat breads, ect....or drink beer/hard drinks, but I did....the night I got it pierced I drank some hard lemonade, lol. It healed within a few days.

My nose (it closed)...hurt like crazy, it was horrible. It bled, my eyes watered, my whole face felt like I got kicked by horse, my teeth went numb and throbbed. I think the guy hit a nerve, most likely. My nose took months to heal, then I took it out because of a job.

This is me with my snake bites...

I also have my ears gauged to double zero's....going up to the next size tomorrow, actually .

I've had my nose done twice. The first time, it was like a pinch and my eye watered like crazy, but not really anypain. It took a while to heal for me, and I got it infected a few times (from playing with it with unwashed hands.) Then I let it close up and got it repierced a few years later. The second time, the lady used a larger needle to get rid of the scar tissue from the first piercing. It didn't bother me at all, didn't even make my eye water. I still have it and really like it.
I also have four and three holes in my lobes. I had my upper ear pierced, but it was done with a gun and it was terrible. It had a big lump, I think it was crooked and I don't think it healed right. From now on, I'm only getting pierced with needles, guns are evil!

Thanks Amy. That's really helpful.

That nose piercing sounds horrible! I've heard that people with their nose done are more likely to catch colds too, so perhaps winter isn't the best time to be thinking about it!

I think anti eyebrows will really suit you.

Lip piercing sound good though. I can imagine them being pretty easy to heal. I think I will go for that, maybe talk to the piercer about my nose while I'm there. Do you have any problems with your teeth from the tongue or snake bites?

I would love my tongue done too, but the piercer said I have a vein right in the middle and she'd have to pierce it crooked. :(

Go for your tat, it's so easy. I'd rather getting inked that getting pierced any day!:p

There is a shop here which does piercings, and they pierce people's noses with a gun, standing on the shop floor. I can't believe that's legal!

I had to have my tounge done at an angle of sorts too and u couldn't tell, don't let that stop u. I enjoyed mine while i had it.

I took mine out years ago. I wish I wouldn't have. I took it out because of a guy I was dating at the time.

That's really useful to know! I was talking to my boyfriend about it earlier and I will probably see how crooked it will be. If it;s not too bad I'll get it anyway.

Shame you had to take yours out. How was the healing for you?

I have always wanted my tongue done and have asked everyone that has had it done , and i just cant believe that when i bite my tongue i want to die and it hurts like heck but putting a gigantic needle through it doesnt??????? lol

I have my ears, many years ago i had the cartlidge on top done but it kept getting infected so i let it close. Ihad my eyebrow done and it didnt hurt much , right after they pierced it it felt like it swelled up like a soft ball, it didnt, but that was wierd. Healed within a week. I dont have my Jelly button pierced, lol.

i have 4 tattoos, and completely agree to really think about them before getting them. I like all mine and only regret the size of one but other then that i love them. Of course they hurt depending on where you put them, but dont hurt enough to never get another one, because i want a few more.

Jelly button! Hahaha!

I agree, tongue feels like it would be agony! I'm hoping if I got it it would help me though, as I've been biting my tongue since I was 18 months old and I just can't stop. I know how bad it is to bite your tongue all the time but I can't help it! So I'm hoping having my tongue done might make me want to bite my tongue less. Probably not though! :?

I just have my lobes done once right now... I want to get at least three more in each ear, gauge my existing holes up from 16 to at least 6, get my lip done once or snakebites, maybe a labret, and my nose. Wouldn't mind a tattoo or two, either, as long as they have some good personal meaning behind them.

Most of this, I have a hunch, is going to occur once my parents have no control over me. :p

I have no problems at all with my teeth because of my piercings :).

I don't play with my tongue ring anymore (I did for the first month or so). It feels normal after a few months, like it's not even there.

I can't wear studs in my lips, the backs of the studs rub on my teeth and it is really annoying and it makes me queezy because of the scraping on the teeth sound it makes. Plus, it's not good to wear studs, really....that is what wears down your teeth. If you keep rings in, you shouldn't have any teeth problems at all....mine don't ever touch my teeth (even when I eat and stuff), unless I play with them with my teeth or something intentional.

I feel great having my lip rings, though...and feel so weird without them in. I had wanted them since I was 15 and my dad said, "No, not until you are 18 or moved out!", of course....so a few days after my 18th Birthday (even though I haven't lived with my dad or mom since I was 16), I went and got them done. I'll be 19th on the 8th (next Sunday)...so it will be a year that I have had them pierced.

I hope that helps you :biggrin2:!

if you click the pictures you can see them full size

I always wangted a tattoo but it took me 10 years to decide on the exact design.

I am an animal lover through and through and I wanted something for my dogs and rabbits. but most bunny pics out there were not what i was looking for. I adore henna style and actually had a lady do the rabbit tattoo on my arm, she designed it free hand. it lasted 4 weeks. I took a photo of it to a tattoo place I like and had them turn it into a tattoo for my leg.

the one below it is the one for my dogs, again i wanted something that transended all the dogs i had had, do have and will have. So I got the paw printes with a rose. I loves roses and felt it was perfect, I actually drew the design myself , but i'm very happy with it. it is symbolic as well with a rose being perfect love and paw prints so standing for the perfect love of my dogs. :) most people at a glance thing the paw prints are rose buds.

I do have another tattoo on my lower back and it is pretty much just for myself. I've always loved folklore and fairies and elves but this one is a pretty picture that i designed that also has meaning. the general gist is about finding my sisters i never knew I had and new beginnings. and it has my fav color which is blue :)

as far as piercings go, i'm not big on anything on the face, no offence it just kinda gives me the willies. but I do have my ears pierced 5 in my left 3 in my right.I had themdone years ago, my first holes in my ears when i was 5 as a gift from my gram, and the others including 1 in the cartlidge I did myself.. young and stupid and in the 80's the thing to do HAHA but they are very me so I still have them, but no one really knows i have them because of my hair..

and most recent just for myself my belly button, still healing as it is very new. I used to say i like them but don't wanna show off my belly, but then said who says i have to show it off I can do it just for myself so I did.

The only other piercing i'd consider is another in my ears, but I don't think i will be doing that you never know.

If I'm wearing shorts people knowI have my bunny and dog tattoo, but if i'm not, thenno one has a clue i have any tattoos or piercings.

oh and people told me the tattoo on my spine would hurt like heck, it didn't he could have tattooed for hours on my spine, it was the butterflies that hurt.

and the swirly design on the bottom of the rose on my leg hurt because it's over the upper part of the ankle bone.
