*sigh*
Cicero has become a picky bun.
When we first got him, he was sent with a weeks worth of food; pellets. We began mixing them with our choice of pellets, but now that his old food is gone he wont eat the new pellets!
I know he's able to eat because his T.Hay and veggies are always eaten completely gone. He poos great, though they are a bit smaller from lack of pellets. So I don't think its a health or teeth problem, he acts exactly the same.

I was reading some, and some vets don't even recommend pellets and say hay and lots of veggies are just fine.
What do you think?
:dunno

Lots oh hay and veggies are good! I know lots of people on here give their rabbits lots of veggies, fresh greens and hay. Others add pellets on to that combo.
How old is Cicero? If he is under 12 weeks, wait until he is just a bit older to slowly start introducing vegetables or even sooner but some vets don't agree with that.
Do you have any of his old food left? Because if you swap foods all of a sudden he could get stomach troubles e.g. diarhea. Try taking some of his old food and add a tiny bit of the new pellets every second day. If he doesn't go every third day or fourth if the same thing happens!
Hope I helped!

Try putting a few oats in with the pellets. Usually, they'll go "hey, there's yummy stuff in with my food" and eat the food as well as the oats.

Jj - I did that with his food, and he ate the new pellets with the old pellets until the pellets were completely weaned out. Now that its just new pellets he wont eat them. :(

He's going on 10 weeks here tomorrow. But the woman I got him from (4-H breeder) was already giving him veggies, as she said cilantro was his favorite :?

I'll try the oats! I'm sending the woman an email to see what brand she used. If all else fails, I'll just get more!

If he's only 10 weeks, you should be giving alfalfa and an alfalfa based pellet til he gets to six months. He will no longer need the extra protein and calcium. Our vet says that bunnies only need veggies and hay once the are grown, but, ours still get a small amount of pellet.

The pellets are alfalfa, the hay is from the woman he came from. Its dark green in color? I'll pick some new hay up after work just to be 100% sure it is alfalfa. I want to make sure he gets what he needs!

He did eat quite a bit of his pellets after I mixed in the oats! He always has pellets available, until he gets older!

No, it auto corrected lol he's going on 10 weeks but it was suppose to be A. Hay. I guess it didnt like my "." and decided to change it to T.Shirt. I fixed the shirt but forgot the T :blushan:

(I'm using the onscreen keyboard and its difficult to use and the auto correct is ridiculous! Cicero decided to take a swim in my glass of milk while I was enjoying some oreos. My laptop keys don't work now :cry2 )

Sorry for the confusion!
