The vet finished Skylar's spay about an hour or so ago and they said they would call back around 4 to let me know when I can pick her up...I asked the vet what I should do with her cage to make her comfortable and he pretty much said to just make sure there is clean bedding in there (I use Kaytee and he said that was fine)...but I need to to know what else to do/expect for the next few days to make her recovery as smooth as possible! Help!

the vet is right. just keep her cage very clean to avoid infection. nothing more you really can do.

Keep an eye on her and make sure she eats and drinks. If a rabbit does not eat for 12 hours it can lead to serious stasis, and a rabbit who won't eat is a rabbit in pain. Your vet might give you some pain meds to take home in case this happens, but if not, if she won't eat anything by 8-10 hours after the spay, you will need to take her back to the vet for pain meds.

Also, keep her confined in her cage for the next couple of weeks. You don't want her running around and tearing open her wound.

And check her tummy every day!

If your rabbit has things she can jump on in her cage, like a second level, take them out or block them off. Keep her area clean and dry in order to keep her incision clean and dry.
