My French lop doe successfully reared her first litter of 5 kits over 5 months ago.
Since then she has had 3 phantom pregnancies.
With the 1st and 2nd ones she had not been near a buck but the 3rd one has occurred exactly 14 days from being with my Buck (planned mating)
Any ideas why this keeps happening, up until she had her first litter she had never had this problem and was happily living with a neutered male.
She seems to have gone into a state of constant phantoms!
Thanks in advance x

If she is living with male (even if neutered) and she is not spayed her hormone levels may be up and she may want to have a litter. Some doe's just want to be bred and have litters. This has happened to a friend of mine and once she bred her she was fine. This does seem odd. goodluck with her!

Thanks for the replies

I assume now that she has had a litter it has triggered her maternal instincts.
I had hoped that she was pregnant to my new Buck who mated her 14/15 days ago, alas not this time.
She has stopped nesting now and is carrying on as normal so I'm hoping to try again in the next couple of days.
Fingers crossed, if she takes this time it will be her second and last litter x
