What are your pet peeves and how do you react if someone does them around/to you?

I have a bad pet peeve about people who eat loudly or with their mouth open.
I can't take it,
I was babysitting last weekend and the boy (6 years old)kept eating with his mouth open, and I KNOW his mom doesn't let him (although he was at his grandmother for a week prior because his mom was on vacation). Anyways, I asked him to stop and he wouldn't , I think I asked him like 10 times. So the last time , without warning I shut the TV off. He was SOO upset, but stopped ;)

My moms, friends son has down syndrome and he eats with his mouth open to the point food falls out, and she tells him too but I suppose he forgets after 20 seconds and resumes. I can't eat around him, because it's so bad. But I love him to death :p

Another one of m pet peeves is people touching me, or sitting really close to me for no reason. If theres no one but me on the couch, go to the other end for petes sake.

My biggest pet peeve is people being late. I can't stand it! If you are supposed to be somewhere at a certain time there is no excuse(except in VERY rare circumstances) to be late. It shows a lack of respect for the people waiting for you.

I also hate when people talk on their phone, check their phone or txt while you are trying to have a conversation with them. So rude

Mine is people telling/asking me to do something I am already in the process of doing. I work in retail and I often have items that get broken that we can't sell. So I have to write them off. It's a long process. I have one manager who repeatedly approaches me and asks me to do these write offs when I have them in my hands.

I glare at her when she does this. (she's the type you cant talk to). Another manager of mine does it occasionally as well. she'll ask me to do something, stop and say "your doing it now aren't you?" and then thankfully we can laugh about it.

Mine is when something I say or post gets misconstrued. Comprehension and attention to detail are becoming a lost art in this cell phone/texting age. People who are constantly late is definitely at the top of the list also. But, by far the number for me is the people who drive and use cell phones at the same time and don't do it very well. Used to think they were inebriated based on their performance--drive too slow and erratic was cause for alarm--now, I check for a cell phone or else I'm the one breaking my rule by use of mine to call the police. I really and truly hate drunk drivers--when I was in High school more than four decades ago, 3 friends were hit head on and killed by a drunk driver who pulled out to pass over a double line on a curve. If that wasn't enough, he had three cases pending for operating a vehicle while intoxicated prior to killing those kids I knew so long ago. Never really got over that one.

Oh, I just thought of more. When people dont' follow the rules of the road and dont' use their signal lights!!! I dont' know how many times i've seen people not know how to use a 4 way stop sign. But i'm mostly annoyed by not using their signals. The signal light is there to warn people of what you are planning on doing. If you just turn or change lanes out of the blue you, are risking your life as well as mine. How am I supposed to know you plan to stop and turn left if you dont' tell me!

Omg I am the same with the chewing thing! I actually tend to get mean about it with my little brother's lol! If they are chewing really loud I'll jump up and sit somewhere else I really just can't take it.

One of my pet peeves around eating is actually food carried around the house or kids running around with the likes of chicken drumsticks or not cleaning their hands or faces after eating sloppy food. I even have friends I dread coming over since I know as soon as they are in the door their kids demand bread with two inches of butter and jam and it gets smeared all over the house. It annoys the hell out of me when the parents just look on when the kids are destroying my house.
Really, I am not a neat freak but I hate butter smeared over my bed sheets and chicken grease on the walls.:vacuum:

ha ha ha Valerie you and I are so much alike, lol. I am a time freak, if i have to go somewhere i make sure i am there early, and when i say i am going to be somewhere i am there, my sister in law is the complete opposite and it annoys me to no end, lol. I also use my turn signal when i am in a parking lot, lol, drives me crazy when someone doesnt use theirs, lol.

I have lots of pet peeves, lol

people who dont pick up after there dogs when they poo

people who dont walk with there dogs on a leash

people who let their animals roam anywhere and everywhere, and dont keep them on their own property.

people who dont watch what there kids are doing, or who dont correct their kids when they do something they shouldnt

Definitely sounds like we are a lot a like. All those things apply to me too. I hate when people let their kids or dogs act badly and dont' do anything about it. Spoiled kids are the worst! My mom is a grade 2 teacher and kids these days have NO respect anymore.

As a bus driver my pet peeves are people who think that large space in front of the bus is for their car (who needs to stop guess we don't) and parents who always have the "not my child" attitude. I've had parents argue that surely there child is not capable of doing even when confronted with it on tape...they still insist that their child couldn't have done it....or that obviously someone instigated or conned their child into doing that. It is quite aggravating.

Ooo, somewhere for me to rant!
I hate it when people use words incorrectly like there, their and they're; to, too and two; effect and affect, etc.
I especially hate it when it's one of my professors; I'll just sit there cringing in my seat.

I'm also a real stickler for time. If I say I'm going to be there I'll be there early. I have a group of 3 friends who are always late and say, "I knew it'd be okay if I was late, because I knew X would be" or something like that, which often leaves me sitting somewhere alone for 45 minutes wondering when they're going to show up.

:sofa:

*raises hands, and sheepishly says "I am guilty of that alot" lol

When people cannot spell simple words correctly. I understand if English is not your first language, but most people I know guilty of this have grown up knowing English.

I'm another one for the late thing; I have a classmate who shows up to every single class late, every lab, everything, and it's just disrespectful, rude, and makes her look bad. If you're going to be a half-hour late for an hour-long class, don't bother coming and disturbing everyone else.

Difficult customers!!! I work at a Starbucks currently, part-time while Im going to school, and I have stopped working on Sundays because of all the difficult people who make their weekly Starbucks run on Sunday. Like the one lady who insists on me making enough steamed Chai to fill two drink cups for the price of one; you paid for one drink, you are only getting ONE drink!!! (She kept telling me I was doing it wrong because I was only making enough steamed milk for one drink...:banghead)

I know it really silly, but it drives me nuts when people don't put bumper stickers on straight. I just dont understand why you wouldn't take the time to make SURE its even before sticking it on your expensive car.

It also drives me crazy when parents take their young children to upscale restaurants and let them cry / disrupt the peace. Don't get me wrong, I like kids, but I really just feel like it detracts so so much from everyone's enjoyment. Sometimes parents seem immune to the noise they are making.

I hate it when people blow their snot around me lol its just so nasty :yucki also hate when people sneeze on me AHH its just so gross :grumpy:
