I got to see some of these rabbits this weekend at the state show and to talk to the woman who will be filing for a COD on them. I will try to share some pictures later - but I've asked her to contact me or come on the forum to perhaps share some information about them.

When Bob Whitman died (he had been importing them) - she took over his herd and she'd already been working on them with him for a bit.

They're a beautiful breed - I can't get them off my mind. I would like to see her be able to get a COD.

Has anyone else seen these rabbits?

I have never seen one in person, but I have a friend, Demi, who lives in the UK and she does lots of stuff over there with rabbit hopping and all that. :p So cool. But anyway, she goes to some rabbits shows and takes pictures of the breeds if she can. So I have seen them in pictures before. They are pretty cute. :D

Personally...I would like somebody to import some Hulstlanders. :inlove:

I actually came across them in a German book on rabbit breeds and was amazed as I had never heard of them before. Where do they originate from?

Wanna be partners? :p Hulstlanders are gorgeous, gorgeous rabbits! I would love to start up a herd of those adorable rabbits!

Hahaha. We have a lot in common eh? lol thriantas and now hulstlanders! :biggrin2:I think they are just adorable... We could even work on getting some more colors for them. :pHow hard is it to import anyway? Sounds like it would be tough... I would love to though.

EDIT::::: AH! I was just on a site that said in 2003 somebody imported them here!! XD XD XD WHO WAS IT?!?!?!

Another note to above --- As I suspected... It was also Bob Whitman. I wonder where they went off too... :( I am going off to do some research. lol I can't wait to see if some of these breeds from overseas get recognized here. There are some other pretty cool ones like the hulstlanders and perlfees.

I do know that the gal is putting in a COD for the perlfees this fall - either right before or right after the ARBA convention. She was going to talk to Tex Thomas about it at the show that afternoon.

She needs X breeders (5 I think) that will do affadavits stating they're breeding them....but I don't know how many those 5 have to have in their herds..

Haha definitey! Thriantas and Hulstlanders - wouldn't that be a unique rabbitry? :p Haha I too wonder how hard it is to import... probably very costly!! lol.

Haha I wonder where the Hulstlanders from Bob Whitman went too? You must find the breeder so then we can drool over their bunnies!

(P.S. Sorry for hi-jacking your thread, Peg!)

oh....I cried for hours over my thread being hijacked....I was so upset..

JUST KIDDING.

I would have liked to talk more about the perlfee and uploaded the photos but decided to just wait since they weren't that great.

Ahh, no, you should still upload the pics of the Perlfee. The pictures on the link weren't very big.
