Hey I have GIMP and I'm using the scissors tool to cut Princess out so I can put her on a Christmas background. I have all the points plotted and now there is a white line around her but I don't know how to pick out her picture from the original background so I can save it, help please!

This may be confusing, but....

What I do is, I move the picture I went to cut from the background ONTO the new picture that will be the new back ground. I cut my object out using the lasso tool, delete all the old back ground, and, there you go...your object is now on your new back ground.

A lot of the times if you cut an object out from its original back ground, then try to move it onto the new back ground, you will get a white back ground...then you will need to start over again with cropping.

I would suggest setting the "feather" option to get a cleaner edge around your object, as well.

Ya I'm confused lol, ok what's happening is when the try and cut out the shape I can't move it around, it just stays there outlined in white.

You should have a tool that looks like a "North-South, East-West" cross with an arrow, that will move your object.
