for the past few weeks, on a certain day, he'll just poop/pee on the third level of his cage on the carpet. why!?????!!! his litterbox is on the 1st level. is nayone elses rabbits doing this!???? :pullhair::tantrum::attention:

Buck does this too. I think part of his is slightly hormonal. He is 4-5 months old and was neutered young.

He is also very picky about his litter. He won't go in it if it is completely clean, but once he starts making his own messes in it, he refuses to use it. I would make sure you're cleaning his litter (not completely changing it, just cleaning) once a day and see if that helps.

it would take up a lot of space and he'd move it anyways and push it tdown to the second level and spill it. instead, i blocked off the third level for now until he behaves. will this work? and when do i let him go back up there?

Blocking the third level for a while could help. I'd wait a couple weeks and then open up the third level to see what your bunny does.

i got another litter box for the third floor and he used it and went on the level! he peed and i had to throw out the blanket!!! so now i have it blocked off and ill see what happens. any advice?

also, he just doesn't seem like himself. he's being a tniy bit more lazy and just spending time in his cage and not running around as much. he's eating and drinking but his poop actually looks as little bit larger and not exactly sphere shaped but close enough. any advice on this or guesses why??

Poop does tell the tale. Sounds like your bunny might have a little bit of an upset stomach. When poops get big or small or change shape, that is a sign of tummy problems. Plus the laziness also is a cue. Gas pains really hurt bunnies.

I would cut back on any veggies and stick with strict hay, pellets and water. And see if that helps bring back his normal poo and gets him energized. If not, there are baby gas drops you can give him to help alleviate the gas pains.

Dobby went through a slight tummy problem and I noticed his poo was a little oblong. It was from the broccoli I was giving him. He loved it, but it didn't love him. I stopped veggies and just gave hay, pellets and water. And got him moving.

Also massaging the tummy helps too.

Hope your bunny is feeling better soon. Hate to see them with gas pains. Wish they knew how to fart and belch. But atlas they don't.

K:)
