My wife and I have a beautiful pedigreed black otter mini rex. Her ears ate a bit long.... But I have a castor mini rex buck with a perfect body from the info I've found. The problem is that he doesn't have a pedigree. He is obviously a mini rex, but I have no way to prove it should I breed them. So my question is, is there a way to pedigree him? Such a good bunny shouldn't go unnoticed!!!

I know the person we got him from. But she got him from someone else. Maybe I could trace his steps. But if he was close to the standard of perfection couldn't a judge give him one or something? Like start a pedigree with him?

You can start your pedigree with him and his great grand children can be pedigreed, but no way to get a pedigree on him unless you get it from the breeder who has past sire/dam info and tattoo numbers, colors, etc...

Oh ok. Well I'm working in contacting his breeders. If not he'll make a good great grandfather.lol. Does anyone know how much it costs to buy a standard of perfection?

You can also look online for information like show standards... And if you dont get hes pedigree then you can start your own, It takes about 18+months to get an full pedigree!

I agree with the others, you'll have to work backwards to the original breeder to get his pedigree. I hope you can find it! But if not, at least you have an amazing rabbit in your stock, and he will hopefully contribute his great genes to pedigreed bunnies down the line. :)

Hope you're able to track down his pedigree. :) If not, as the others have suggested, obtain a Standard of Perfection and go from there. You'll have to start from scratch, but if you're willing to put the time into it I'm sure it will be very rewarding :)

Do not expect the breeder to do this for free, they usually charge $10 or more for the pedigree. Does he have a tattoo in his left ear? If not good luck getting a pedigree,
