So, talkbudgies fourm isn't very helpful..

but what do you consider the minimum caging for two keets? I am trying to buy a new cage (once we move) and having a hard time deciding.

My current cage is approx (If i remember right) 23x22x30..so it meets the "minimum requirements"

One of my parakeets is over 7 (not sure of her exact age) and the other is approx 4. I do clip thier wings.

Despite age they seem pretty active, but not as active of course. Just wanted to ask around and see what you guys thought.

18x30x18'h is a very good size cage for 2 and currently I have 4 in one temporarily. You can get them or a slightly smaller sized on for about $40 off amazon or ebay. They are prevue brand I think but most sellers don't list the brand. Just the dimensions and aviary flight cage or breeding cage. I bought a 4 pack of the ones that can be divided in half for $100.

Long cages are far better than tall cages. If the dimensions were different there's no way I'd be able to put 4 even temporarily in that cage. I think the people on talkbudgies kind of overlook that fact. Budgies don't use height well so cubic inches of space isn't always useful. You have to look at the shape of the cage as well. These make very cheap cages with tons of room.
