When is the earliest -you- can tell a rabbit is pregnant?

Most people say 12 days, some say 10 but is there anyone else here who can tell at 7-9 days depending on the rabbit, such as me? Any experts out there know the exact(almost) day you can tell - the soonest, and what you are feeling at that time?

Anyone care to explain the stages in what you feel when palpating as such and such time? Like I know at around 21 days the babies are or have formed out of "meat balls" however I have a doe that is day 21 right now and her babies are still ball shapes.

*sits back and waits*

For some reason, I've been breeding for 10 years and still can't figure out how to palpate. LOL!

But from what I understand, it really depends on the breed you're working with, the size of the rabbit, the number of babies. Generally, most people can tell by 10-12 days. But better palpaters can tell earlier. One of my friends is so good she can count the number of babies!

I can count too :p I had a litter of four today, which I counted 4, I have a litter of 6-7 due the 15 and I have a litter of 4(one of which feels like a peanut) due the 17th. I then have a few does that are 7 days along, one of which I feel her uterus growing and thickening and I believe she is pregnant. The other's have very muscular stomaches and I can not get a good feel for nothing :/

I palpate the first time at 10 days, then again at 14 days...usually I can tell at 14 days if they're pregnant. I also will feel their belly at later days to see if I feel movements, etc.

I did guess correctly with the amount of babies in Sage's litter...but it was just a guess.

I rechecked and today the doe is 25 days along... and the babies are still not baby shaped. One I could feel a head but that is it. This is not normal, should I worry? I recently got a hamster and she had babies 10 days later, all the babies where little "meat balls". I am afraid this is going to happen with my bunny :S

Can you feel the babies moving around?
I have felt three pregnant does stomachs at this stage and with all of them I could feel the babies moving around like crazy. It sounds like you could be feeling poop, alot of people mistake poop for babies.

I know the diffrence between poop and babies, besides that they are the size of small plums. 3 feel to have their heads but they are not baby forms yet. It is not normal and I have followed her with palpations all through her pregnancy and I know her proper due date so there has to be a problem. And no - my palpating did not cause complacations, I do it with all pregnancies.
