I am SO excited, I palpated my doe, Bizzi, today(day 10 after breeding) and I *think* I felt a fetus.:biggrin2: It was lower in the abdomen, I could move it easily and it was about the size of a small grape(maybe 1/2" in length). Do you think I felt a kidney? I read somewhere that at day 10, the fetus should only be the size of a pea. So in my case, I felt something else because it was larger! I'll wait another week before palpating again. I should probably just leave my poor doe alone-lol but I'm really excited about this litter, dad has 14 GC legs and gorgeous!.:inlove:Ah, patience, patience, patience. We'll see sooner or later!

The kidneys can be felt "high" up near the spine.

At day 10, the fetus is larger than a pea - by day 14, the size and feel of an average grape and low in the abdomen. (Day 14 is the best time to palpate)

It really sounds like your feeling a fetus. Otherstructures canfeel like putty, fecal pellets feel like . . . fecal pellets, and cecals feel like cecals.:p A full bladder feels like a small balloon. The empty uterus feels like a rope.

Near the end of pregnancy, the kits feel like small, hard structures.

Thanks Pam, I'm almost certain it was a baby I felt. I palpated my hotots when I had them several years ago and I remember how those little baby bumps could move easily, I don't think a kidney could do that, if they are anything like human kidneys they are somewhat attatched. Anyhow, I'll try one more time next weekend as it will be closer to the best date to palpate.:p

Thank you!

Awe! Thanks Emily! That is Bizzi, the doe that is *hopefully* pregnant in my avatar. She is a broken blue polish. I am just getting into Polish, I raised Dwarf Hotots in 1999-2001 when I was a youth. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I wanted a small, gentle breed and am sooo glad we picked this one! I love our rabbits!:biggrin2:Website is in the works!
