Oxbow hay isn't fresh?

Well...this is a new scenario for me. I love Oxbow....Q-tip loves it too.

I always find it to be super fresh and green. This bag (different size because they were out of my size) was not. A decent amount of it is brown. Doesn't seem to bother the Tipster, who's happily munching away anyway, but has anyone else had a bag of Oxbow that's brown? Still smells yummy, and apparently tastes good, but I've never had a bag like this before.

Anyone?

I don't buy my hay like this... but I'm sure its fine. As long as it doesn't look moldy or anything.

May have just been left in the sun too long while it was being dried/different farmer/differen area/ so many varriables when it comes to hay, and as Jes said, as long as its not mouldy then munch away!

Maybe other people don't buy this size much, either, so it's a little older, but if it smells ok & looks ok except for the color & it passes Q's taste test, then all should be well.

Thanks. Sounds good. Totally passes the taste test (hers, not mine!), but I wasn't sure about the look of it.

There's no mold...but it just doesn't look as fresh as the last one. Ah well, the whole bag will be gone in about two weeks anyway....little pig.
