Ok, experts. Tell me, what kind of breed is he? I was there at the shelter volunteering today and they told me I could take him home for 5.00, possibly including his neutering. I WILL ONLY TAKE HIM IF HE IS NEUTERED. The person that brought him in said he was eight weeks old. His testes have decended, which tells me he is older than that.

He IS cute, and if he were a well bred Flem, his color would be perfect. They have him down as a "jackrabbit" because they thought he might be wild because of his coloring...

What am I doing.....???? I'll get him out of there and foster him if need be. They have him in a tank.Yuck.

No, he's not a jackrabbit!

He's just a crossbred. What? I don't know but he's definitely not a wild bunny.

I could guess but I always think there's a rex in there someplace - and maybe a satin in this particular one. I'm not good with that part but I be pam or someone could help.

He's very cute - looks like he'll be a medium sized rabbit to me but again - just a guess.

He's definitely adorable.

oooh He's cute!

I'm glad you're considering adopting him! Getting him out of that horrible tank...how rude of a shelter to keep him in a tank! You'd think they'd know better. Or was I reading that wrong? If so, sorry!

He does look like a Flem...not sure though since the pictures don't really show his whole body. Maybe ask them to send you a few body shots....then the breeders/owners here can help you guess what breed he is....just a thought!~

Chestnut is a very dominant color. He looks like a mix of some sort. Reminds me of a Silver but I doubt it as they are somewhat rare. Definitely need a weight or a body shot.

I saw him and he is about the size of a nerf football and about three pounds I would guestimate. White belly. Cute guy. Held him upsidedown, tinkered with his plumbing to make sure he was a he. He looked at me a bit indignant but no real protest.

I notice no one here is telling me I don't need another rabbit....

Yes, but it might cost you more money in the end when your husband goes and lives in the van because there are too many animals in the house!!

I'll be at the shelter today and I'll give you all an update later.

If anything, I'll foster him. That way hubby won't have too much of a fit (I'm not keeping him, honey!!) and I'll know that this little guy is being taken care of.

He reminds me of a Silver also (although he doesn't appear to have any silvering). There are Silver breeders in PA, so certainly not out of the question - some of the Silvers have very poor silvering or no silvering.

Being able to see/feel the coat would give us a much better indicator - they have a snappy flyback to the coat as well as magnificent color. A photo of the intermediate bands of the coat would help.

I spent time with him at the shelter today, cut his nails and brought him some proper food. They still had him in a tank, but are switching him to a cat cage.

If he were a Flem, I'd call him a sandy. He is that dark muddy color with a dark undercoat.

He adores being held and snuggled and tolorated getting his nails cut without so much as a protest. They will be neutering him on Thursday and I will take him home either to foster or keep. I think Arwyn would like the company, but I'm not having a male without him being neutered. I don't want to run the risk of an unwanted litter.

Need another rabbit like a hole in the head drilled by a rusty screwdriver covered in Tetnus...... grumble, grumble..... but he's so cute.........

In my house this always turns into hubby wanting to keep them. :pGot two cats and Floppy past him this way. lol.

Took my hubby and the kids to the shelter to drop somethings off and had them meet Simon. Hubby said ABSOLUTELY NOT. NO.NO. NO!

I'll work on him......
