Out of Africa wildlife park...

I'm leaving in a little while to go to Camp Verde, AZ...which is like uhhh...1 1/2 hours away (I think?), to go to "Out of Africa" wildlife park with my dad, step mom, and Grandma Ruth (she's visiting from NY).

The park looks kind of lame from the website, but I guess it is supposed to be really good. I hope it's good and my Dad is paying....it is $32 a ticket! Ugh, plus lunch! Dad and Kelly (step mom) usually always pay for things like this. Dad said they had some buy one, get one free tickets (thank goodness!).


I am going to take a ton of pictures, so I will share with you guys when I get home later tonight.

It's a really cool place! I went last year, be sure to do both tours. We were there at "feeding time" and got to see them feeding all of the large cats, bears, etc. and it was REALLY awesome! If you are into animals, you will like it. There are some pictures in my myspace....

On one of the bus tours, they give you carrots to feed the girrafes, and such. Our driver put it in his mouth and leaned out and she took it. He also mentioned that she liked blondes,so I had to try it! The giraffe licked my entire face, and I ended up with a nasty cold.

Becknutt....your photo's are so amazing of the animals at the park :shock:. Didn't you just LOVE Boom Boom? I felt really close to him because he was rescued from Catskill Game Farm....right up around where I lived in NY!

I forgot to post my photo's! I really wish the fences weren't there half the time, or pretty much all of my pictures would have been really nice. I really wish I had an amazing camera.

I took a ton, but these were the ones I liked the most...

You got some great ones! I also liked Boom-Boom. I liked the story behind the animals being there that give you the sense that they really are not just another zoo. I didn't take all of those pics, some of them I purchased in the giftshop. lol. Most of my pictures were taken with my cell phone cam.

I like your pic of the giraffe with the carrot! It reminds me of that giant tongue going accross my face.

Did you see the cat with only 3 legs? I also enjoyed petting the hyenas, they rub up on the fence begging for pets. Did you do the feed?

The last picture of the pictures I posted is of the kitty with only three legs. So sad that it got ripped off by a Lion (17 years ago, I think they said). Her name was Pristine, I think...so cute!

I did see the hyenas and the keeper petting them. It is weird how they "moo" and "laugh".

The feed was cool, but kind of gross to me. They feed horse meat and it smelled so disgusting. I almost puked so many times!

Oh gross.:? When I was there they fed whole turkeys mostly and a few pieces of beef.
