Yesterday, Wabbitmom (Karen) had her tooth fixed and is feeling much better. Last night she and my daughter were coming home from shopping and had taken the Indiana Toll Road. While going down the off ramp, the left rear tire of the car came off. Sheared the lugs off at the base. God was watching over them because they were not hurt, the car didn't wreck. Karen said she lost control momentarily and then she was able to regain control.

I didn't have the money to get Karen's tooth fixed and I certainly don't have the money for a car repair. I havn't been able to pay my friend for some work he did on one of our other cars. He said he knows we've been going through some tough times and he said thats why hehasn't called usabout it. So I can't very well ask him to fix it.

With my son going to the career center in the afternoons and the busesnot bringing the kids back to the high school, we need a third car. My wife and I work in opposite directions from each other too.

Please pray that I can work off my debt to my friend so I can get the car fixed or someone will be able to loan us a vehicle for an extended period of time.

Thanks

Dave

Wow Dave - someone was certainly watching over your wife....

I'll be praying. Here are some thoughts too....frequently - there will be someone in a church who has an extra car - for whatever reason - and maybe they'll be willing to loan it to you. Or something like that...maybe just let the church know? I've found that many times things like this have happened to us...I once drove around the HUGE church van for about 5 days while our car got a new transmission put in it. I hated doing it - but we desperately needed transportation and the church offered the use of the van to us.

I know y'all have been going through time times lately - but just remember - at some point in time - you will be able to turn around and help others. I think that is what I love so much about a church community - sometimes we're the ones being helped - sometimes we're the one doing the helping. It might be financial help - or physical help (like when Art used to fix a widow's things around the house - just to help her out).

I'll be praying - let us know how things work out!

WOW! You've had bad luck in a sense but someone has been really watching over you!

I hope you can find a way to get the car fixed. I know how it is, I swear we have the same things half the time..... and it's not fun, is it?

Thanks for your prayers everyone.

I told a friend the story of what happened. He called his mechanic and told him what happened and what was wrong with my car, so if I tried to fix it myself I would know what needed to be replaced. My friend called me back later and said "Dave I feel that I need to help you", but I can only go up to $200.

He gave me his mechanics number, I called him, hecalled a towing service who called me and asked me where the car was, I told the tow truck driver where it was located. About an hour after that my friends mechanic called and said the car would be ready by 5pm!

The mechanic called me and said he ended up having toput a new drum on the wheel (I will try and post pictures of the parts if I can) and the bill came out to $200.

Now is God awesome or what!

:woohoo

You know, Dave, I've never met anybody who's prayed and managed to get $400 out of God for two separate events in 7 days...

Divine Intervention, for sure. Obviously, God's eye is on the sparrow (or bunny-hugger, if you prefer).

I wouldn't call it getting money out of God. To me it is just amazing what God can do. In both situations, my wife and I just said there is nothing we can do, prayed and turned it over to God. Which is not easy for me to do, I always want to be in control.

My parents also gave me money to help pay my bill to my mechanic friend I owe money to. It didn't cover the entire bill, they are retired and gave me what they could afford, which was more then generous. So my friend will have half of what I owe him and I am doing some odd jobs to get the rest.

All I can say is God is awesome!:)
