Our story is a long one, but I thought that since I am new here, I would like to share the story of our adventures with bunnies. We started out looking for a pet. Our apartment doesn't like dogs or cats, so those were out. We then got the bright idea to get a bunny. We found one on craigslist that needed a good home, and we adopted Romeo. Romeo was a bit of a grump. He had not been neutered, and had a litter of babies with the previous owner's bunny. We didn't know a whole long at this point about buns, but he was so darn cute, we couldnt say no. He was never very friendly, but we let him do his thing. He was a stinky little thing, which i later learned was due to not being clipped. Sadly, about 4 months after we adopted him, he jumped off of a ledge, and ended up breaking his back and had to be put down. We were unsure how long we would wait, but knew we wanted another bunny.

Not too long after that, we walked into a pet store and fell in love with the most adorable male lop. We were told that he had been neutered shortly after birth (Which proved untrue), so we had no reservations about adopting him. He was so docile, and loved being petted. We named him Gizmo because he looked like a gremlin!

About a month later, we noticed that seemed to be getting lonely. When visiting a local pet store we saw the cutest little girl. We decided to buy her on the spot as a companion for our little Gizmo. They hit it off instantly and were in bunny love right away. It was too cute to see them cuddling all the time.

Eventually, we noticed Giz humping Gerti, and i then noticed that he had entered bunny puberty. We tried to keep them separate, but one would escape and the other would escape.. and well, we ended up with little #1. SHe had 8, 5 of which ended up living. We found them all homes, and were going to surrender Gizmo, as we couldnt get him neutered because the costs are catastrophic. We kept a little girl as a cage mate for gerti. When we took them on a trip for the weekend with us, we learned the hard way that Gerti was pregnant again. This time she had 9 babies, all of which lived.

Long story short, we found them all homes, have our beautiful Gerti, and Annabelle which is one of her daughter. They are absolutely adorable together!

Wow - what a story!

At least everything worked itself out and you've found an appropriate solution. Excited to hear more stories about your bunnies. :)

While gerti was sharing her cage with 9 little ones, she was getting quite grumpy. Honesly i couldn't blame her. However, now that they all have loving homes, we have noticed a huge change in her. She is binking up a storm when we let her out, and it warms my heart to see it. Her little one is usually right beside her binking away too. They are just a site to see!
