So Otto, in all his glory, has figured out how to get his cage open long enough for him to scoot his but to underneath my bed and evade me.

I thought he wasn't going to be able to do that with a cage top that is too heavy, but it seems he's developed the muscle capacity within a day.

So far, I have two pairs of shoes holding down the cage top, but what am I to do? Is this a bad habit that's never going to go away? Is this normal?

I'm just too shocked right now...

What kind of clasp/lock is holding the lid shut?
Is there any way you can send a pic of the cage? If it's a type of lid with a...bit that sort of...clips onto a wire then it may be something simple like just bending the clip a little further to make it harder to open.

I know what I am trying to say lol! Haha like the kind on hamster cages?

Okay.

Well this sounds like boredom to me. If this lid really is as hard to get out of as you say, then he must really be trying his hardest.

How big is his cage? Does he have interesting, stimulating toys? Do you rotate them?

I just have to say how awesome it is that there's another Otto out there! And a holland too. Do you have pictures posted somewhere?
