Art is up at the kids' apt to pick up Robin andbring her home in the morning after work so she can bunny-sit. She justsent me this IM:

I thought about not telling you so youwouldn't worry - but you definitely need to be kept in the loop and wecould probably use another person praying - we just found out that thevan won't go anywhere, it'll start but refuses to shift out of park, the locks won't work electronically, either someone siphoned the gas orthe gas sensor is out of whack, and the van insists that we have a dooropen even when we've shut them all tightly. The signs point to anelectrical problem, most likely, and I suspect Dad will be spending along time wrestling with it while I'm at work. GRRAAARGH. Dad's drivingme to work in Eric's car, but we obviously know you can't take bunniesin the sedan . . prayinghard about this, God willing the van will be working tomorrow morning-
For those who believe in the power of prayer - please bepraying! We need to leave out of here tomorrow afternoon atthe latest pretty much...

Oh no, Peg :(! All these bad things with the gender fairy and the van will surely lead to great success at Nationals though.

I wish you the very best of luck :hug2:.

Art is on his way home - he got the car to run - BUT - we have no back lights, running lights, cruise control, etc.

Something is definitely out of whack with the electrical.

He's headed into a part shop on his way home or once he gets here (orif I can reach him on the cell - I'll have him head into the dealershipto have them see if it is covered under warranty).

I'll update y'all as I can.

On top of that - they didn't call till they were halfway home -so I'm running way behind right now..

Oh No!

Thats scarey because what is causing these problems? I hate to thinkabout you getting stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a vanfull of bunnies!

I just found out mine needs new upper ball joints-which costs about600.00! Just when I thought I was catching a break from vet bills, thishappens. :(

Praying that you guys make it up here!

Art is replacing some electrical things now...cost about $200 for parts....money that was for gas.

I was talking to Lisa (who was going to try to go into Enterprise andput down HER credit card for us to get a vehicle to rent) and said wewere gonna try to come but we had to look at gas, etc. again.

Her comment? "You just get here....I've got your back. $200? No problem...I just want you here."

I've never had a friend like that. I've been a friend like that before- but never HAD a friend like that.

So - we're tenatively still on - depends upon what happens as Art replaces the parts..

Peg

P.S The back electrical box was $75 - the front was $125.He's putting the back one in first so he can test it and maybe take thefront one back....that would be great!

Wow, Lisa sounds like an amazing person (maybe almost as amazing as you :)).

I need some prayers as well. Im having trouble because my jeep dealertold me it was upper ball joints and so I took it to Tuffy to have thework donebecause they were a lot cheaper. They looked at itand said no way its the uppers, its the lower ball joints-which isgreat because they are under recall/warranty and would be free. Butguess who would have to replace them? The dealers. I called them andtold them what Tuffy found and they are being @$$holes about it. I dontwant them touching my car.

So...Im taking it to another dealer a little further away to have themlook at it. Hopefully they will be honest. I have a feelingthisfirst dealer was trying to make some money off me. Imtaking my dad with me this time. My appt is tomorrow so hopefully theycan get them replaced (for free!) and I can come sat!!

Just to share a final update....

We're not going. The parts Art put in didn't make any difference (theytold him that he could bring them back if they didn't work).

I'm ok with this .... and I'm actually seeing some positive things I might share later in my lionhead blog!

Peg

My first thought was this stinks! Mynext thought is that there is a silver lining here. Somethingbad could have happened and I kind of think this is for the best fornow Peg. Sometimes more than not, things happen for areason:hug1.

Yep - we missed it.

I'm ok. A bit disappointed but you know what? Life happens.

I'm gonna have some great show bunnies to try and place into pet homeshere - probably for about $10 each. BUT - I will do my normalinterviewing folks before I place any....

I just wanted to quickly update this by sharingthat I think I understand now why we weren't supposed to go toNationals after all.

My daughter Robin's 12 year old cat collapsed last night. She wouldhave been alone with him as he passed ~ with no car to get to the vet ~and no money on hand to get to the vet. Not that he reallyhad time to make it to the vet...

I don't have his photo handy and right now I'm too shellshocked to write anything...

But I am so glad now that I can be here with her and for her. She'sblaming herself that she left him as he was getting older (to go off toschool) and that she didn't take him with her to her apartment yet'cause of the pet deposit.

Peg

I somehow missed all of this:?

I'm so sorry that you had so many problems with the van and couldn't go...
...But I'm glad you were there when your daughter needed you.
