I took her and the boys to a "bunnyclub" meeting that the Bunny lady from the shelter I got Oreothru runs on Wednesday nites.......She had let me adopt Oreo withoutmeeting me or the boys (which is unusual I guess as she's realpicky)...after talking she was impressed with what I knew and how Ianswered things is what I was told by others when I picked Oreoup. Anyway...I got to meet her today and she takes a bunny tothe hospital for a therapy bunny...I asked her what I'd need to do toget Oreo into that and possibly the boys later after the neuter andhealing etc. She said exactly what your doing now...I run it.LOL! She said Oreo would be PERFECT and that she thinks Corkywill be very good at it.....Homer has the right temperment but is morewiggly and not as content to sit and cuddle. She wants to seehow he is after the neuter, but I'm for sure going to start withOreo!!!

I'm going to call her tomorrow to schedule my first time to take Oreoup!! YEAH!! I'm so excited that she's gonna be a therapybunny!!! I already work in the playroom on Wed nites at the childrenshospital...so later I may work into taking one with me each week when Igo!!!!!

Just had to share cuz I'm very excited!!

Yep...I already volunteer at the childrenshospital playing with kids on Wednesday nites...so if possible, I maytie it in there too.

I know I'd love to have a bunny visit if I were in the hospital! Due torecent heart issues etc I've developed depression and the bunnies havehelped alot...I love nothing more than coming home to those fuzzy lilfaces wanting a treat or some luvs...

Well, I think we're going in tomorrow nite tolearn about the whole process for Miss Oreo! I'm pretty excited!!!Hopefully once Corky is back on his feet and neutered he'll do so aswell, and if the neuter settles Homer a bit, he will most likely do sotoo!

I have a ferret who is a therapyferret. He's really laid back and always has been, so itworks out well. I would love to take Sampson and Elvis andmaybe Abby. My mom's a nurse at a nursing home and I takeNemo (the ferret) there. I've talked with her about takingSampson and we both think he would be really great. I justneed to look into if there is necessary certification orshots. Nemo has all that taken care of. (He has anote from my vet and a rabies shot and he wears this little vest whenwe go.)

Hehe, thats adorable, a lil vest!!LOL! Yeah, I'm excited..she'll be really good at it...But Iwanted to wait til I felt good about how Corky is doing before Istarted to take this on...I think he's gonna be just fine, so I'm goingwith it...it'll be good to start out with her then bring him into it ina couple months!

That is so Awesome. I am so excited foryou. I think that is such an awesome thing to do. I bet they would begreat at it too.

Sadly in virginia they need to be certified. I am in contactwith the Delta Society still. They want me to get a basket for Apollo.I keep telling them I can't find a basket big enough and I could nevercarry him that long lol. We're trying to get his strollerapproved.

That is awesome... And a great way to spend theday!!:angel:Every body will be very happy to see Oreo and will thinkshe is an Angel for going to see hospital kids. It is very sad w/ allthe sickness and death around.

Hah, that'd be one BIG basket Tina!!Around here they don't have to be licensed or anything..I do think thatthere are much stricter rules with dogs tho. Helps that thislady knows Oreo from the shelter and me as well....she was very happythat I adopted Oreo! I think it'll be fun!

She has been accepted as the newest therapybunny at the hospital!! She went in for an interview and we went andsaw some patients...she sat on beds with a couple and did justgreat!!!! YEAH Oreo!

My ferret is certified, that's why he has a little vest. I'mgoing to look into getting Sampson and Elvis certified and probablyAbby and Lily. They are both such sweet girls, I just need tolet them settle in a little better first. If I did that, theywould each get a big break in between visits. Nemo goes every2 weeks to the local nursing home and he used to go to Children'sHospital in Pittsburgh when we lived down there. I'm hopingto take him there again.

I guess if I need a basket for Sampson, that won't work. Nemogoes in a little carrier, but I just carry him around once we getinside.

Yeah, Oreo goes in her carrier then I just lugher around....I've thought about trying to stroller train her, wouldmake it alot easier, even at just 6 lbs, carrying her around for anhour and a half or so she gets heavy!
