"Bruiser" Looks similar to a Holland to me, but he doesn't quite nail it. His nose is really flat, and he's very small. A little bigger than a standard Polish (still smaller than our false dwarf).

Am I right in thinking Netherland/Holland cross? What do you guys think?

Not that breed matters, I'm just curious as to what he could be.

Bruiser thanks you for the compliments! :) I absolutely ADORE him! He's so sweet and mellow. The guy we got him from had him posted for free (scary thought of what could've happened to him) and said he didn't know breed or age.

I think he looks like a holland to me. They do tend to have squished noses and a baby faces. Hollands are also the smallest Lop breed so can be as tiny as 3 lbs.

I think he is adorable!! I'm a bit jealous. I'm currently on the hunt for a male holland :)

Thank you :) and I never knew that (I don't know much about Hollands), so he could very well be a full holland?

The gentleman we got him from heard that we were wanting to do "Bunnies in Baskets" and gave us his retired holland show buck too, and both of them have the perfect temperaments for the program, I think.

Oh, and Agnesthelion, we found them on a local radio station's classified website. I don't know if you have any of those where you are, but it may be worth looking into!

Definitely a full blooded holland lop. Show quality hollands can look WAY different than pet hollands. They are supposed to be small stout and blocky with a lot of mass.

Here is a nice broken blue buck. Notice how thick his front legs are and how big his head looks. Very different than some of the hollands I see on here

Look at that smushed in nose! His head looks just like my little Bruiser! <3

I don't know if Bruiser should be this small though. He's smaller than our 2.6lb Polish doe. Can they still be this small normally, or is he an exception

His name WAS Thumper, but it didn't suit him at all!
For some reason, he makes me think of the little chihuahua on Legally Blonde that Reese Witherspoon carries everywhere. Maybe because I want to carry him everywhere I go... we could be FAMOUS! -cough cough ahem-

So yea, since the Chihuahua's name was Bruiser, I decided to call him Bruiser. He's supposedly fully grown, and shows no signs of being any bigger than he is now. I'm thinking about taking a comparison photo to show his size

Sorry if I missed this, but how old is he? He may not be full grown yet. Reminds me some of my boy Toby, but as far as I know Toby is a mini lop mix, not a holland.

I think that he looks like a full blooded Holand to me. There can be some vareation in the size of rabbits of the same breed. Since you do not know his background, you do not know how he was raised. Who knows, he might have been malnureshed as a baby and that is why he is not full size.

Marisaandtoby - We don't know how old he is. The guy we got him from just said that he was fully grown, and that he didn't know anything else about him either. His ex got the rabbit, and when they split up, she left Bruiser there.

Thanks everyone for all of the help!

Yes, he definitely looks like a purebred Holland and his size is pretty typical. Hollands weigh between 2-4 lbs. for show. They can even be bigger/smaller in some cases- not every purebred animal is show quality. He appears to be broken blue tort in color.

Thanks for the color diagnosis, Oakridge, I was wondering what you'd call him, knew he was some kind of blue. He almost matches my broken opal english, it's adorable

The first photo looked almost solid blue, but there seems to be that tort tint in the following pics. If he sort of resembles the opal, blue tort is probably right! :)

He looks a little rusty on his ears, and he was kept indoors, so I'm sure it's not fading. But he looks almost exactly like her, just more blue.
