i got my fish now...
and where i usually get my rabbit, and mice supplies dont have fish stuff. but online stores such as petco does!
my question is does buying from petco online support the petco stores. i choose not to support petco becuase they sell live animals and dont offer very good care (i have been to three they were all bad)
if i purchase something from petco online i dont want it to support there sells of animals in there stores.
does it?

I don't know the answer for sure- but as a former business major in college - I will tell you that the odds are VERY good that Petco online is a subdivision of the whole Petco chain....so I'm guessing that yes - you would be helping Petco with your purchases...

There are lots of other sites to get aquarium supplies from. You can search on Google, or ask on a fish forum. I've never ordered fish stuff online, so I'm not sure which sites are good. There are some sites that will even mail you your fish, specially packaged, although they restrict shipping to certain locations depending on weather, and you would want to be home when the fish arrive.

Petco here in a small city on Wi. has taken two of our shelter rabbits into their stores, stopped buying from breeders and are in the process of working with the humane society not only to PAY for spay and neutering of the rabbits but also to help us in the adoption process. They take excellent care of their animals. I am from Chicago, however, and have been in Petco stores where the animals were not well cared for. The "rabbit " program from Petco is in parts of Ill.,Mn and Wi. and the Petco Foundation is available to nonprofit shelters for grants for animals. Here in this town the store is crowded each weekend with cats, dogs and Me (with rabbits) from varied non-profit shelters in this area. I know that Petco has a bad rep and that much of it is deserved but I think, that they are attempting to compete with other large chains like Petsmart that are into "rescue" and that "rescue is the trend of the future (at least in Pet-stores). I respect and believe what you are saying about the Petco's in your area but I must defend ours because they have been so open to help with homeless animals.(esp. the bunnies)

Petco's history is not good, but I do think that they are making changes. Like angieluv said, they are now not taking any more bred rabbits but instead taking in rabbits from the humane society. That's a step forward. WAY TO GO PETCO!!

yeah our petco only takes animals from the humane society now...hurray! :Dso does petsmart...but theyve done that since they opened a few yrs ago

it probably does support their stores

Taking this directly from the bottom portion of their site...

"Online prices and selection generally match our retail stores, but may vary. Prices and offers are subject to change.
