Hi this is my first post here! Mainly cause I need a little help with my bunny. So I just noticed yesterday that he had hair missing on his ear, and also the hair is shorter near the base of it too. He also on the rim around his eye was a little red and he seemed a little uncomfortable. Today his eye is crusted shut. I'm thinking this is a disease or something and not just something in his eye since it is crusted shut and not just him holding it shut. I considered that maybe he and his cagemate, a guinea pig, could be fighting. But they have always gotten along, and when I take him out of the cage she gets super anxious and starts squeaking like crazy till I put him back, so unless it was an accident I don't think it was from her. They also have a large cage of about 8 sq. ft. So I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be fighting over space.
Thanks to anyone that can help!

He may have a bacterial infection in the eye. He most likely needs antibiotics. Can you get him into a rabbit vet? You may also have to take his little buddy with you to the vet, since they are obviously bonded, and it may stress your pig and rabbit, to separate them for so long. You can try softly wiping the eye with a warm damp cloth. Just make sure to do it gently. If you don't have a vet for him already, here is are some rabbit vet lists.

I just got a better look at his eye, it is open now and I realize half of it is grey, looks similar to how a cataract looks, is this a bacterial infection?

There probably is a scratch to the eye then. If there is an infection(which is likely) from a scratch, and so much of the eye looks cloudy, you really need to get into the vet asap. Today would be best, as waiting too long may mean a costly surgery to remove the eye. Your rabbit will probably need either oral antibiotics or injectable antibiotics, and antibacterial eye drops. If the eye seems to be bulging at all, it is especially critical to get your rabbit to the vet immediately.

Definitely something that needs veterinary attention.
Also, rabbits and guinea pigs really should not be housed together. Yes, they can become close friends, but rabbits have been known to accidently kill a guinea pig with one strong kick and rabbits also carry bacteria (like bordatella) that can kill a guinea pig. They also have different dietary needs so each needs their own pellets.
