OK, let's set the scene. Will's brother, Jimmy, lives in Altus, Oklahoma with Will's parents and other brothers. Jimmy wanted to go to Mississippi to visit some chick. He drives SOUTH for whatever ungodly reason, and he wound up driving to New Mexico. For those of you who aren't in the United States, New Mexico is West of Oklahoma, Mississippi is East of Oklahoma. He drove over 200 miles out of the way. I have no idea how this happened, but it is freaking hilarious! Sorry, just had to share...

He's just one of those people who does things impulsively. Since March of this year, this is where he lived... In order:
- Michigan (w/ parents)
- Wisconsin (w/ us)
- Wisconsin (w/ g/f)
- Michigan (w/ oldest sister)
- Wisconsin (w/ g/f)
- Wisconsin (w/ us)
- Wisconsin (w/ g/f)
- Michigan (w/ oldest sister)
- Michigan (w/ other sister)
- Oklahoma (w/ parents)

He probably has skipped around between homes a few more times, but I lost track. It was just too ridiculous to keep track.

1. GPS

2. MAP/Atlas

3. Mapquest

4. Yahoo maps

5. Compass

Does this dude WORK for a living??

Nope. He works at some place for a few weeks, maybe a month or two, then quits. Will and I BOTH got him jobs, and he lost both of them pretty quick. Shaving your hair into a mohawk and piercing your own lip doesn't help with jobs, either.

Directions do nothing for him. His dad told him how to get there. He was supposed to go South, then East. He went North, then West. When he was driving back to Michigan for the first time, we told him, "Instead of worrying about which exit to take, etc. Just take I-94 to Detroit. You'll be able to find your way home once you get a few miles North of Detroit on I-94." What did he do? Printed off directions on MapQuest and got lost before he even hit Milwaukee.

:grumpy:

Back to the "working" question. He's really good at asking for handouts. I have a feeling that is why he called yesterday. I wish the laws hadn't changed, his dad should have beat him. lol

Well, I'm pretty directionally challenged myself, but I do at least try to watch for road signs. You know, ones that say things like, US 69 NORTH, LOL. It's just not a good omen if you're supposed to be going south, or even east!!

It is pretty amazing, isn't it, when people think that everyoneshould just "accept them the way they are", when they look bizarre? It is true that we should look at their heart, not their appearance, to decide if we like them. But, come on. Some things are just inappropriate. Would you go to a plastic surgeon who had 98 tatoos, 12 studs on his face, and admitted to smoking 4 packs of cigarettes a day?If we knew each other socially, sure, I'd invite the guy to my New Year's Eve party, but he's not going to touch me with a scalpel!!

Edited by me because my sentence structure was retarded! :p

I've heard Altus is very lonely. That's according to his parents...
Its a funny thing about Altus.

We lived there for 8 years - from 1988-1996 and we LOVED it there. Our kids were almost 4 when we moved there and it was a great place for us to raise our kids (we homeschooled them but the school system was a good one). People would move to Altus for the military and complain about the place and we never "got it". Art grew up in Northern Maine - I grew up in Connecticut - but in the country (sort of)....so to us - it was actually almost "big" - in that we had a Walmart right in town and we had a very tiny mall and a JCPenney and stuff.

Then the Air Force moved us to Anchorage, Alaska (my dream place to live) for four years and then to Andrews AFB in the greater DC area for 2 years...and when we returned to Altus - we could not believe how much it had changed and how slow life was there.

Of course...Altus hadn't changed...we had. We lived there for 2 years before moving down here to Del Rio - which still isn't quite as large as I'd like...

Ha! Sorry, had to laugh at the Wal*Mart and JCPenney thing. Will's oldest brother moved down to Oklahoma from Michigan for the "great job market". He was going to make the big bucks... Now, he works at Wal*Mart, and his wife works at JCPenney! I don't think his parents live in a very good part of Altus, because the very first day they were there, someone tried to shoot his youngest brother. Yeah. Great neighborhood...

Haha, oh.. wow.

I'm directionally challenged..

I was going to see my uncle tonight for new years dinner. My brother asked me to go in the van and sit next to the baby because it was a longish ride and he has a tendancie to get aggitated if hes in the carseat for a long time. So i said yeah and I spent the whole drive yelling at him for going the 'wrong way' until that is, we pulled up in his driveway which we passed 2 times, he had to trade his truck in eh :X
