Offline for a couple weeks

I'll be offline for a couple weeks I think the noisy fan in mypc finally seized up, so the computer repair guy will be out sometimenext week to pick it up.

I'll only be on for short times to check email until he comes out onThursday, but if I have time will try to visit from the library pc.

Cross your fingers that this guy is prompt and will bring my "baby" back soon

Are you talking about the power supply fan orjust the CPU fan? The CPU fan is really easy toreplace. It is the one that usually goes bad.

Hi Ed,

I'm not sure -- I just turned the pc back on and the fan is makingnoise again (so that means it didn't seize up). I also need anew CDrom and floppy and the guy is also going to be picking up myother computer to replace the CDrom and floppy as well as reformat theharddrive and see what it takes to get the other one online.Having only 1computer online in this family issimply no enough.

This guy's prices are really resonable and he does free pick up anddelivery, so I thought it would be easier to have him do everythingrather than me trying to mess with it. Ryan took the othercomputer apart, but I never got the parts to fix it, so it's stillsitting in pieces on my bedroom floor My husband wouldreally like to have that one online to use upstairs.

I'll be coming online for short periods of time until the pc getspicked up on Thurs. -- I just don't want to leave it running 24/7 likeI normally do.

That's awful that you wont be online for that amount of time.... thisplace will not be the same without your wonderful presence and yourvast rabbit knowledge!

The things that you are having done to your computer are pretty easy todo.... I do all the maintenance and upgrading of my computer myself,and it really is easy. I am sure that it wont take him that long to fixwhat needs fixing, unless he's got other work for additional customersthat needs to be tended to first.

We'll be counting the days until you are back online, with us!!!

He only charges $25 for labor -- so it's not evenworth my time to mess with it. It may not take him long to doit, and I can access from the library the week after next, so at leastI won't be completely cut off from the world.

Also getting ready for a trip to VA in two weeks, so I wouldn't have been online over the 4-5 days that I'll be gone anyhow.
