I have posted about circling before but its really starting to become a obsession for Fraggles. My husband and I can not walk around at all without being circled. Its like we are the sun and she is a black and white planet. She orbits us from room to room and if we stand still she does figure 8's between our ankles. If we stand real close together she circles both of us. She also thumps her foot as she is circling and sometimes makes a "crying" sound as she goes. Its a problem cause we trip over her and sometimes give her a small kick on accident. We are worried she will get hurt. Is there any hope for us? Does anyone else have a obsessive circler? For the record she is spayed! Thanks :)

The only time I have seen our rabbits do this - circle me and stamp foot (but no crying) is when I bring them their morning salad, or their afternoon bit of alfalfa. I have always interpreted it as excitement/anticipation of something good on the way.

To reduce this behavior, my thinking would be to enrich her environment in some way, so she has more than just you to get excited about.

Is there anything anyone would like to suggest? She has her wiffle ball with the bell. Her cat wand, her cardboard box castle, her bunny tunnel. (Its a cat tunnel we bought for her). She seems pretty happy. We see lots of binky's and bunny 500's. I did not think the circling was out of boredom. She also circles if I offend her like after picking her up. Then I am in for a serious circling!

Lol we have discussed this. You need to send Daisy Mae to US so Jason can streak her mane pink. You see she sent us a message saying she will never be happy unless she has a pink streak in her mane. But her "mom" won't let her dye her hair. :-/

How gradually did you introduce? Ours didn't like each other at first, either, but we introduced them very gradually, and after a few months, they became best friends.

Benjamin and a lot of our rabbits did this before they were neutered ( to me only ). If was a dance of love, in their cases horny, but can be a sign of extreme love, affection and adoration. Benjamin used to oink when he did it. When he was neutered he quit and so did the others. I kinda miss it because it meant to him that I was top notch, top of his list, his most favoured person, man do I love you mom. Oh yah, when he was doing this most enduring circling, oinking he would spray all over you. Just be glad that Fraggles cannot do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnie used to do that also and she was neutered. Whenever Nancy came into the room she would screech and attack her legs. One of us thought it was funny. As to tripping over and kicking, we just do the bunny shuffle. We walk like on Deadliest Catch, without picking our feet up off the deck. We have three right now that always follow and get under foot. Good luck.

How old is Fraggles - do you know? My Pepin was about 3 years old when I got her and she was a world class circler. I get the whole routine; circling, snorting, foot thumping and occasionally some ankle boxing! I also developed the "bunny room shuffle" to avoid stepping on her (yikes!) but she does occasionally get "punted" if she manages to be right in front when I take a step.

Pepin is around 8 years old now and her circling behavior has diminished but not disappeared. Now it's more like "hmm...I could get up and do the dance, or just lay here and honk at her while she goes by...decisions, decisions...ya, not getting up. Hey Lady! Honk!"

:thumbup It's ok its actually sexual behavior. She does it because she loves u. I asked my dr. about this behavior, he said walk slowly when he's out of his cage. This behavior will not hurt her at all.

LOL I have never heard a bunny honk before. I need to youtube it. When she circles she makes a crying sound that sounds like a whimper. Also I have noticed then when she is circling I can easily pick her up. Something I can not do any other time.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I would just like to say... welcome to the club of obsessive circlers! Mojo started this very shortly after we got him, and recently it turned into licking, biting and of course, mounting our feet. :-\

And don't feel bad about the accidental kicking when she circles you, Mojo will circle, then leave for a second, and then dash out in front of us when we least expect it, usually resulting in a slight kick or nudge. It got so bad after a while, people made fun of me at work because they could hear me walking up a mile away, due to my "bunny shuffle".

It seems Fraggles and Mojo have a lot in common, Mojo will wrangle us together, wait for us to get really close, or hug, and then will hop around us for as long as we allow it.

He is also a horny honker/oinker.

Aren't bunnies the best?!?! :bunnyheart: :bunnydance:

Lol thank goodness Fraggles does not hump! Well she humped the neighbors cat a couple of times. The circling continues though. I was circled more then usual today. People that visit make fun of me cause I can't go anywhere without being orbited.

Katie, how many times do I need to tell you :biggrin2: Fraggles is circling you because she is trying to make her way to the "Dutchess" yes my Daisy Mae is Royalty.

Poor Fraggles is getting so confused trying to make her way to her friend. She knows Daisy Mae is out there somewhere but she just can't find her.

Fron DM "FRAGGLES I'M WAITING FOR YOU. TELL YOUR MOMMIE TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND SEND YOU ASAP."

Susan & Daisy Mae:)

Your right! Fraggles and Daisy Mae NEED to be together. But Fraggles is a U.S bunny. She would miss American "chinese" food (she likes those little dried noodles),tully's coffee and bad healthcare. I think the only solution is to send Daisy Mae! She would get a pink streak in her mane and all the dried chinese noodles she could eat. Come home Daisy Mae come home! Then together we will storm Texas and free Peg's adorable holland lop baby. He is way to cute for Texas!
