Obese Rabbit

I've got an obese rabbit. Any tips to make it lose weight?

I have read that you should limit their feed & treats. Once a week take away their pellets and feed them hay. Make sure they have plenty of water. Also you can let bunny out for some exercise

What pellets are you feeding? If its a mix,with seeds and coloured bits - change! Oxbow are great pellet, how old is your rabbit? I would cut all treats, and offer plenty of hay. How much pellets are you feeding your bun? If your free feeding stop, offer a amount morning and night depending on age and size. Is your rabbit getting any exercise? Let him out in a bunny proof area with a few toys to stimulate activity, get on the floor and play with him, mine like me rolling jingly balls and they follow them.

I have been feeding Prince every couple of days and that does make a rabbit lose weight safely. Prince is a little overweight, he is 3lbs 6oz. He should be 2lbs.

:shock: That's probably why he's chunky. Switch to a plain pellet like Purina Rabbit Chow, or even Nutriphase if you can't find anything better.
