nut allergy

hi all

im doing some cookery tomorrow and bought myself a pkt of organic brazil nuts to munch on

after eating nearly all the bag i started as if my ashma was coming bkthen my throat started to close and then iwas going hot andcold and then i was vilently sick

i went to bed but couldnt move

i should of went to hospital but all i wanted to do was sleep

im ok now but never again

OMG!!!

Do you know if you're allergic to nuts?
I'd definately have the Dr. test me if I wasn't sure.

My wife had the same reaction after eating kiwi for the first (and last) time.

Yeah, it sounds like anaphylactic shock to me(which I've experience in an allergic reaction tomedication). You're lucky you're okay, and it didn't get anyworse than it was! Mine got so bad I couldn't talk, and theyhad to give me epinephrine because my heart was going dangerouslycrazy. Scary for the sixteen year old I was at the time, letme tell ya!

Just be sure to take in moderation next time. We wouldn't wanna lose you!!

OMG thats really bad!! Sorry to hear that!

When I went on holiday to Malta they wouldnt let us have peanuts onboard the planeas someone was allergic to them.

I thought that was weird as I didnt realise you can still get reactionsfrom them even if you arent personally eating them, but the personsitting next to you!

The only thing im allergic to is cows milk and cheese. But I only get a rash.

Glad your ok, and definetly dont do it again!!

Linz...I used to be allergic to cow's milk as akid, but got...er...I will say not being able to hold it down as anadditional result from it.

After I had my daughter, I tried it again, and found that my allergyhad somehow fallen away! The only reason I tried it wasbecause while I was pregnant with her, she craved it like CRAZY, but Ijust wouldn't take the chance. It didn't make sense thatshe/I would crave something I couldn't have, so I thought I would giveit a shot! Glad I did!! It gets tiring having toexplain to people why you're having cereal with WATER, and hearing howdisgusting it is, when you have no other option! LOL!!



Hehe...I finally know why people drink milk while having chocolate...LOL!!!

Eww! You didnt have to have water withyour cereal!!! I have soya milk, which is an alternitivetocows milk and much better than water!

So why do people have milk with chocolate? :embarrassed:

LOL...Linz!! Hey, my parents knew NOTHING about soy milk...was it even out in the 80's?

At any rate, it helps to cut the immense sweetness of chocolate...kindaneutralizes it a bit. Also, it's great for soggying upcookies so they're not so hard.
At least, that's what I've dubbed in for the times that I've had itafter having chocolate cookies and the likes. Reallyhelps!
