Not sure what it could be?

I had my rabbit Trig out and about today, and I noticed something strange on his eye.My roomcanlet in alot of light and he happened to be at the right angle where the sun glared against him and I noticed this blemish over his left eye. It is bit hard to explain but it was like a circle with these blurry lines in it coverering part of his pupil.Has anyone seen this?I'll be taking him to the vet to get it chakced but since I couldn't find anything online I thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone has ever seen this?

Hi, here are some links to diseases of the eye with pictures. Could you tell us which of them it looks most like, if any? Eye diseases often make me squeamish and these pics are no exception, so be forewarned. If you don't want to look at them, a picture may help, or a more detailed description. From what you've said it sounds a bit like a corneal ulcer or a blob of mucus and fur on the eye.

It is possible that Trig could have a corneal ulcer, it resemebled what I saw although it wasn't as white. The rest of them did not match. I am going to do some research on this to see what is envolved in correcting it. Thank you very much!

If you saw the sites, then you probably saw the one where they stain for the ulcer. It involves putting a dye into the eye and looking at it under a different light. The vet can do that to help diagnose definitively. The treatment is usually oral or opthalmic antibiotics, just to make sure that the ulcer heals up without getting infected. Steroids are not used on an eye that has a corneal ulcer--anything that ends in -sone or -zone is a steroid. The opthalmic antibiotics aren't as good but may do the trick. They're like Neosporin but it is made especially for the eye--normal Neosporin will not help.
