Well today started with me going to my sons foot ball game where they , again , kicked but. Then i came home where i fed the baby and t hen off to a shot clinic to get all three dogs thier shots, all three were behind, 8.00 each for rabies, cant beat it. So we went , t he ride was about 20 minutes and when we get thier i get them all out and we get up to the place and stand in line. Well my one dog Buzz starts acting strange and looking like she was trying to bite at the leash, so i told her to stop when i realized that she was having a seizure!!!!!!!!!! With that she went down on the ground, my mom was holding her, so she was on the ground talking to her and rubbing her, while i stood there with the other two feeling so freaking helpless, wanting to just have a stroke!!!!!!!! So , what felt like 4 hours, went by and she was coming out of it, foaming at the mouth and peeing herself. My mom told me to get the dogs thier shots and she would stay out with her. Well i get in the place call my vet to tell them taht i was coming in with her and what happened, called my hubby to tell him i was going to call him when we were leaving and i needed him to meet me at the vet office to take the other two home so i could deal with Buzz. 369.00 later and we went home, i asked them to give her a shot of valium cause she hates the car ride, they gave me an antibiotic because her teeth need to be done, but i dont have the money right now to do it, and i asked them for valium to have on hand if this happenes again. They also put her on Pheno that i will keep her on.

Some back story about 3 years ago i took her to be groomed cause i was pregnant with my one son and i could not groom her, well they s haved her and when they went to put her in the tub and turn on the water she had a seizure, that was the first one ever, so then a little while later i took her to our vet to be groomed and it happened again, so after that we put her on Pheno. I wound up forgetting to give it to her for a w hile , but i was sure that it was just stress induced seizures, as she had never had them any other time except when we took her to be gro omed and was stressed, so i wound up taking her off the meds. She has been fine for the last two years, with no problems at all. Well i had a feeling that this might happen , especially if these seizures were stress induced, and boy was i right. The poor guy in front of me in line when i called my hubby i started crying and after i got off the phone he looked at me , like a deer caught in headlights look , and asked me if i was going to be ok,lol.

WE got home, my dad stayed here with two of my kids, and watched the dog, cause i had to go and see my cousin go to his prom, which we where late to getting there. But that was ok cause so was his date, she was from our area and stuck in the same traffic, lol!!!!!!!!! Now i am home and tired as heck and want to go to bed. I will start her meds tommorrow cause i still have to go and pick them up, she is doing ok now, i think i was more scared and wanted to go to the vet for a valium for myself more then for her, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so my birthday was eventful, i have to seriously work on getting a job to pay this stuff, these animals are going to kill me,lol. I dont know if it can wait but it is going to have to , but i will get her teeth done in Jan, seems long to wait but i dont know if i will be able to do it sooner cause it is going to cost at the least 500.00. She is over 10 so there is going to be hundreds of dollars of blood work, and then anti biotics for before hand, thent he surgery.

oh well i am off to bed people with the hopes that tommorrow will be better, lol

Well, happy birthday! :balloons:

it is common for dogs to have seizures at the dog groomers, but it more during the use of dryers. its kind of an odd thing, they can have no health problems and be perfectly fine but for some reason dyer seizures happen. I used to work in a shop and some dog would go into instantly and some it took a moment like half way done drying a dog and then of course they would have to be washed again because of the accidents they would have during the seizures.

But i hope your doggie will be ok and no more seizures :pray:eek:r other health problems

My cat has seizures too after someone pulled out all her claws and beat her, she was on pheno but it couldn't control them and she had to be PTS a month later. It's great your dog's seiures can be controlled with the drug.
