Hi all :)..

wanna ask you guys something.. yesterday asi gave my bunny alap, my sister went out and forget to close the door.. and when i wentto the kitchen to get some treat, he went out withoutnotice..when i finally saw him on the road, i ran to take him back.. but justas i ran, a car speed by.. narrowly missing him.. i almost got a heartattack.. luckily he's ok.. i checked him through.. but when i took himback inside, he suddenly got a nose bleed.. i'm really really scared..i've tried looking for a vet.. but the ones that i found only takescare of cats & dogs.. i'm really upset.. can someone plsssstell me what's wrong with him? is he ok? after the near miss, he hidesunder the sofa and won't come out.. until sometimes later.. he seems oknow.. playfull and eating well again.. but what does the nose bleedmeans?

Welcome to the forum!

I have no idea what the nose bleed means. Maybe it was caused by thechange in air pressure as the car passed by? I couldn't find anyreference to rabbit nose bleeds. Is it still bleeding, or did it stop?

Eating and playing is a good sign. Where do you live? There might besomeone who lives nearby who can help you find a vet. If you live inthe states, you can try the vet list at http://www.rabbit.org/ It has alot of good info on it, anyway.

So what is your bunny's name? And can we see pictures of him? We love pictures!

Thanks :).. i'm so panic i didn't give a proper hello :p.. sorry :p..

well.. the nose bleed is only for a couple of minutes and hasn't bleedagain.. i realllyyy reaallllyy hope he's ok *fingers crossed*.. he'sacting normal.. he eats A LOT.. LOL..

unfortunately i live in indonesia.. and there isn't many vet around:?..i'll try to get some pics later.. right now i have to give Dudut sometreat.. he's munching on my shirt.. LOL..

sounds more likethe sudden near miss raised hisblood pressure resulting in a nose bleed,Myabe his nose got inadvertantlybumped when you picked him up , its hardto say what really happened when inpanick mode we tend to forget the smallstuff like maybe ahand bumped his nose hardor when he went toduck he may have knocked it off the pavement, More teh like of it is hisblood pressure went high andonly released thru a nose bleed , I knowthis can sometimes happento Humans , so it isnt farfetched to find it happening in Rabbits.

well.. i think it's the blood pressure thing:?..he does seem ok now(eating and hoping around).. he doesn't seemstressful anymore.. i don't think the nose bleed is 'caused by methough.. 'cause i picked him up reaallll sloowwww.. 'cause i wasaffraid that the car might hit him somehow.. thank you sooo much for urconcern :).. i'm still going to find a vet though.. just in case..

ps. something's wrong w/ my digicam.. the pics will have to wait i'm affraid..

Thats ok Pictureswhen you can . lol we Loveto see new Rabbits,Glad your rabbit isfeeling better , watch for a decrease inpooping and a slow down in eating, or for him to stop eating andbacked up into a corner , this will indicatea sever problem , Hopefully youcan find a vet soon ,it would be best if you couldfind one before somethingdrastic comes to be. Keepus posted how he is doing .

Last summer Bub's mom Tank had recurringnosebleeds, especially in hot weather. It never seemed to hurt her, andthey went away quickly. Must have really fragile blood vessels in thenose.

So I wouldn't worry if he's acting ok now....
