Sothe day before I left for convention I knew Caroline was pregnant and due any freaking day, and I didn't want anyhing to happen while I was gone so I got one of those pet bunny cages with the huge plastic bottom and set that up for her inthe guestroom so Erron could keep an eye on her while IW as gone. Though I had written down when I had bred her I couldn't find for the life of me WHERE I wrote it down. But I knew it was shortly after Nieveh, who gave birth the night before I left. So it had to be like...soon right?

Every day I called Erron. "How's Caroline? Any Nest? Pulling fur? Gathering hay? Anything?"
"No. no , no, I miss you, no, no"

And I came back Saturday evening. And that night Caroline did it all in one shot. I checked on her and then went out to dinner, came home and bam...pile of fur with 6 babies inside. Exactly a week after Nieveh. But also like Nieveh, Caroline decided to have them outside the nest box, and just made a pile of fur int he corner of the cage. I usually just move the whole thing into the box and they take it from there and everyhing is fine.

Although Nieveh was a little different, I moved her inside because she INSISTED her nest be onthe wire of her cage. And I'd put it int he box and she's flip it over and put it back onthe wire. So I got another pet cage and put her in my guest room. I stayed up all night waiting with her but I guess she just valued her privacy too much. I went to bed at 2AM. The next morning there was a blood stain onthe bedding and no babies. And Iw as like ''wtf there have to be babies in here...." Turns out she dug a hole in the beding, lined it with fur, bad babies in it, and put hte nest box on top. But everyone was ok. Then I had to leave and I lost 2 babies while I was gone. But now they're over a week old, have open eyes, and are furry and doing fine.

Caroline's litter has 3 blues and 3 blacks. Nieveh has some assortment of blacks and steels I don't remember. But the other night she was making such a racket in the guest room t like 3 AM. I was abou to go in there and strangle her. I'd just gotten back from convention and I was so tired and she's all like ''oh now that you'r back i'm going to bang my nest box off the walls and stamp my feet and try to dig holes inthe plastic for the next...eh....3 hours or so. Sweet dreams Jesse."
"You gonna die rabbit!!!"
But the next morning she had dumped her nest box and pushed allllll the bedding to one side....dug a hole in it....and put the babies in it....somehow....I guess she prefers a more natural setting. So I took her nest box out. They're inside, and over a week old, I'm sure they'll be fine. And they have been for hte last 2 days.

Alright picture time....

Those babies all lined up and matching is adorable! :hearts:

My daughter has like 3 or 4 bunny breeds that she always tells me she wants.

1. A black Flemish Giant

2. Dwarf Angel's broken blue Polish, Moe. (She tried to steal him last year at the ARBA Convention lol)

3. An English Spot

4. DUTCH! she would like any color really but loves the black and white and brown and white. She's going to be crazy for these babies!

HA! She'd love me. Maybe in the future. She also wants to go get one of BlueGiants babies...... and Wabbitdad's and....... LOL!

:inlove:

so gorgeous:inlove:

i never use nest boxes for mine neither do most of the breeders over here some just have shavings and they just have fluff and shavings. I use hay and shavings and they make really great nests :nod

I never thought of it that way. Though it reminds me of a good story...

A friend of a friend had a pony. It was like, the pony she grew up with as a child. This pony taught her to ride....and many years later taught her daughter to ride. The pony grew old, the woman got other horses, and the pony was retired to live out her days int he company of the woman and her family. By this time the pony was very very old, but still going strong. And she decided that if any major medical issues ever should plaguet he pony, that at her age it would be best ot let her go, then put her through any major stresses.

One night the pony broke a sweat, and wasn't looking too good. They blanketted her and hoped she wsa just having an off day. The woman gets a call from work the following morning. The pony has laid down, they have the vet out, its just her timeto go, and she'd better leave work and come home. The woman leaves work and speeds home as fast as she can. The woman runs to the barn and throws open the doors to see the pony standing by her husband and the vet.... and the pony looks at her, pricks her ears forward, and lays down and dies before the woman can even reach her.

The weather for the last week or so had been overcast and cloudy and mucky. They buried the pony in the pasture, and as they paid their final respects....the clouds parted and the sun shone over the fields. And the vet, the woman, and her husband, looked up at the sun and remembered her pony.

Months passed and as a birthday present, the husband took his wife on the Montel show to see Sylvia browne. Sylvia started the show by saying she had an urgent message, and if there was nyone inthe crowd who had horses. People raised hands. She asked again who had a horse pass away recently, some hans went down. Was it an older horse? The questions persisted until the woman was the only one with her hand raised. Sylvia had a message from her pony.

I'd also like to mention that after the pony was buried, and the sun shone, those 3 people kept that special moment to themselves, and never told a soul.

"Its a little brown horse....running up and down the barn aisle, she really has something to say..... and she wants you to know that she's alright, and that the girls are with her. and when you saw the sun shine through the clouds....that was her leaving and saying goodbye."

That night the woman spoke on her experience to a close friend of hers. She hadn't thought too much about her pony's message, but allteh pieces later fit together as she told her friend the message. HEr friend broke down and cried.... and then it struck the woman. Her friend had lost her two daughteres tragically in a car accident and a murder within a year of each other. The pony had taught her girls to ride. And she had been praying for a sign that somewhere....they were alright. The pony had said the girls were with her.

That pony waited to see her mommy before she died.
I didn't really think about it but I won't say its not possible that Caroline waited for me too.

No i think some of them do i had one that waited till day 35 and had the baby about 10 mins after i got home from work (bruce had checked her just before i got home and there was nothing) and Squishy is notorious for waiting for Bruce to get home before she kindles its really weird.

I have def. seen it happen a few times.

And that was a really nice story.

My grandfather passed away a couple of years before Bruce and i got maried. On my wedding day it was raining pretty hard and when i was getting all my stuff ready i looked up and said Grandfather if you are up there can you ask the big man to make the sun shine. The weird thing was it rained till 10 mins before i left the house then the sun came out through the ceromony it was raining so hard and the rain was blowing sideways across the windows but the sun came out again when we went out for our pictures and just as the last picture was taken it started raining again! i choose to think it was him!!
