Hello im Samantha. I do not have any rabbits yet. But in two weeks im adopting two female rabbits. Both female. One is a grey Lionhead and the other is a white Lop. I am very excited for my two house rabbits and am looking forward to many years with them.

So i figured until they get here I would join this forum and read up and continue to expand my bunny knowledge ;).

Hi Samantha,

Welcome to the forum :)

That's great that you're resarching about them before getting them.

where are you getting them from? Do you have any pictures of them yet?

I would suggest checking out the Bunny 101 forum, but if you have any questions then don't hesitate to post and ask :)

I look forward to seeing you around and seeing some pictures when you get some.

Take care

Tracy

Hello :wave:Welcome to RO! RO is a great place to learn.

I'm from Ohio too. :biggrin2:

:party0002: Congrats on your new bunnies. Do you have names yet for them? .....April

I am getting them from a friend who is moving in with her BF who has allergies to the bunnies. And she knew I have been researching breeds and such for a year now. So she offered me both bunnies for free. I just can't pick them up for anouther week or two because my car is in the shop, and she lives awhile away.

And yes I do have pictures. And if you guys can give me opinions on their cages that would be great. I can purchase the cages from her for $40. But I want to make sure its worth it. I don't plan to keep them in their cages 24/7. Really they will only go in there when im not home or at night when I can't supervise them (I work from home so it will be rare that they are unsupervised)

Female Lop. She is about 3 I think my friend said. Good with her cats ect. She is the more friendly of the two. Her name is "Snow" but I will be changing it.

Female Lionhead. I cannot remember her exact age. But I know she is younger than the Lop. She is alittle more skittish but my friend thinks she just needs to warm up to me and it will all be good. Her name is "Strawberry" right now but I plan to change it to "Sparrow"

Aw, what adorable buns. Are they bonded together? Or do they live spearately?

I personally think cages like that are an awful lot of money for something pretty small. You might want to look into NIC cages. If you go into the photo philes section there are a few threads on NIC cages and you will see they are much more flexible and can be bigger and also built to fit whatever space you have. They also generally work out a lot cheaper too (although possibly nto cheaper than those cages from this lady).

I agree. The cages are small. I would build them a NIC cage. Or buy a bigger Cage. I don't see toys. And bunnies needs toys to keep them busy. They are really cute :biggrin2:I like their names too.

Thanks guys for the opinion on the cages. Im going to look into that other kind.

And they are gonna get plenty of toys when they come to live with me. Everytime I go shopping I end up with anouther toy or treat for the buns.
