How do you tell the difference between these three? I'm fairly certain my own is a New Zealand since he's an ex-laboratory rabbit, but it does get me thinking when I look at rabbit breed posters and I see very little difference between NZs and Florida whites. Also, I'm aware other up-eared, large bodied breeds come as REWs too, so how would you know?

Florida whites are smaller than New Zealands. Florida Whites are around 4-5 lbs if I remember correctly, whereas New Zealands can be around 10 lbs or more.

As for any other REW bun, I guess you would have to know breed body types. I have 5.5 lb REW bun and I have no idea what breed she might be. Her ears are too long and she's a bit too big to look much like a Florida White, and she is too small to be a new zealand.

Could you post pictures of your rabbit? I have raised NZs & FWs before. I may be able to tell you.

I don't have any very good pictures yet, but I'm assuming he's a New Zealand because of his origin and because he's about 8 pounds. I was just asking more out of curiosity than trying to identify my pet :D
