Hi everyone,
My name is Lyndsey and I have owned 3 rabbits. My first one I was in 2nd grade and the rabbit lived in a hutch outside. Because I was so young and didn't realize the responsibility of raising a rabbit, my dad gave it away to his friend at work who had 5 girls. It was a white and gray rabbit not sure what breed but I think it was lop eared named Fluffy. My second rabbit I was in about 6th grade and my friends sister had worked at Petco and got this rabbit there. Her name was Angel and she was a brown and white Dutch. I had her for a few years until something happened and her hind legs didn't move they just dragged behind her. So we put her to sleep. She was such a fun rabbit. We always played hide and seek and chase. The rabbit I have now is named Duffy. My boyfriend and I got him when I moved in to my boyfriends house in April '08. We originally adopted he and his brother Ruffy from the Animal Humane Society. They also had a sister named Muffy that we were going to get instead of Ruffy but she was already adopted by the time my boyfriend got there. Duffy and Ruffy were so cute cuddling in their cage. Once they started getting bigger they wre fighting really bad. I would find chunks of fur and Duffy had a scab on his back. I didn't like the way they looked at eachother like they wanted to kill eachother. And Duffy would always hump Ruffys head to show dominance. We ended up seperating them and putting Duffy outside cage which was really bad I know we shouldn't have done. It didn't have a top on it. Was like a big dog cage and in the middle of the summer. We brought Ruffy back to the Animal Humane Society and I felt horrible. They said we could pay like an extra 70 dollars to find out if he gets adopted or put to sleep. But we dont have that kind of money.
We are so happy with Duffy. He is litter box trained so I let him run around our office every night. He loves to hide behind our futon. We just got a puppy in August and they get along great. We love animals. We also have 6 snakes (not by my choice) and 2 fish tanks with lots of fish. I wanted to get baby ducks this Spring but we might not be moving for 10months in February. My boyfriend is always on his Nisson forum and just yesterday I was like I bet there is a forum for rabbit owners and we found this one. I am very excited to share and talk about each others rabbits. ttyl
