New to bunnies and this forum! Pics!

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I live on a big farm in Wildwood, GA and I have just fallen in love with bunnies!

We have 20 chickens, 2 dogs, 1 cat, countless cattle, and a new bunny.

I was at the feed store today getting chicken feed, and I got suckered in when I saw this adorable little gal. :inlove:

I was hoping to get input on what breed she might be. At the store they knew nothing about what breed or age. I'm guessing she's pretty young.

I have been doing my research on how to care for them, and my boyfriend is out making a hutch as we speak.

I'd venture Netherland Dwarf (maybe something mixed in)..she's certainly beautiful.
It's great your boyfriend is building you a hutch - he sounds like a sweetheart!

What a sweetie! How big is she? That will help with breed identification. The ears look nethie to me too.

Make sure you put the hutch in a shady spot and keep an eye on her during the hot summer. I've visited GA in the summer (northwestern mountains area) and it was killer! I've heard of heat harming bunnies (to the point of death) even here in WI where the summers rarely top 90. Other things that can help are putting frozen water bottles in the cage.

Oh yes, forgot about the frozen soda bottles - we're in South Carolina and yes, you will certainly need to put the frozen soda bottles in your pen/hutch for your bun during the summer months - there are even outdoor fans that some breeders install to help keep the air circulating.
