My French Lop babies are now 5 weeks old. The Californian babies were born 5 days after the French. I found the weights pretty fascinating:

Frosty- 2 lbs, 10oz
Blue & Flip- both at 2 lbs, 9 oz
Blaster & LaRew- 2 lbs. 8 oz
Opie & Heifer- 2 lbs, 6 oz

The Cals:
Cal 1- 2lbs, 10oz
Cal 2- 2lbs, 9oz
Cal 3- 2lbs, 6 oz

I didn't think the French would be that close to the weight of the Cals, because the French look a lot bigger. But those Cals are little bricks.

Cher, the new Flop doe, weighed in at 14lbs 3oz. She's a HUGE basketball, with a head attached.

Trisha, Kit's jr. Cal doe, is at 8lbs, 9oz. She's only 4 months old, so will now have to show in intermediate does, I think.:(

Twila, the senior Cal doe, mother to the above Cal litter, weighed in at 10 lbs, 3oz. So over the "ideal" weight, but still squeezing in under the max weight. She's a tank!

Adeline, senior French, mother to above litter, only weighed in at 11 lbs, 3 oz. She's dropped a lot of weight nursing all those kits. I think it's time to pull them, even though they're not 6 weeks yet. They definitely aren't staying with her until they're 8 weeks old.

Max, junior Flop doe, weighed in at 9lbs, 8 ozs. She's a porker!

Didn't weigh the rest of them, but plan to today. Now I have a reliable way to monitor weights, and if I think someone is dropping/gaining, I can pop them on the scale and see for sure.

I also got a scale for my crew it has been interesting for me as well weighing them. Goodness you have some big bunnies! Im interested in seeing the weights of the rest of them.

Man those weights put my Franklin to shame lol. This makes me want to weigh him. . .

YAY! He went from 9.8lbs at 8mos to 10lbs 10.8oz now at almost 11mos old. I guess increasing his feed and lowering his protein helped!

We use a basic scale for mail.

Oh and very interesting how the cals compare to the frenchies.

Sarah, the weighing is fun. Well, I think so. The scratches all over me prove that the buns aren't as thrilled about as I am. haha

This is a mail scale, too, that can weigh up to 35 pounds. I just used Velcro to attach a big tub to the top. Hubby said he can drill through the bottom plate (that just slides onto the top of the scale) and attach the tub permanently. But for now, the Velcro seems to be working.

I was shocked. The French babies look so much bigger, but those Cals are solid little things.
