Good Day! I am in the over 50 age group and am a first timeowner of any rabbit, ever! We came across a white Flemish Giant Doe who had "crooked" ears and her future didn't look too bright.

We "prepared" our Umbrella Cockatoo, set up an areafor her tocall her own and brought her home. So far,we are allin awe of her!In 24 hrs. time, she went from being a terrified lump, tothis inquisitive, full of energy bunny that isjust fun to sit and watch and she and "Mick" seem to be getting along great (minus a small amount of jealousy)! I did find that even thought we have a fairly animal proofed house, she did manage to find a couple of places that I hadn't even thought of butwe've gone behind her and fixed things up. I was thrilled to find this web site, I had no idea that I knew so little about a bunny!Happy Labor Day Weekend! Peter

:welcome1 Welcome to the Forum Peter! This is a great place to get ideas and suggestions of "anything rabbit"! And there are lots of Flemish owners on here too!

Thanks for taking her in... most Flemish owners think they are pretty special and not like "other bunnies". (And there are a couple of us in the "over 50 age group". LOL!)

How old is your girl? What did you name her? What does she weigh? Have you taken any photos of her yet? We like it a lot when people share pictures! (Hint...)

:helloand :welcome1to RabbitsOnline, Peter. Like Bluegiants said there are several of us in the "older crowd". Those of us that remember life before cell phones, microwaves, cd's etc. I am glad you found the site. RO is a very active, friendly and helpful website devoted to rabbits and their slaves.

Here are some good links to areas of the site you might find interesting, the Library section, full of good reference info, Bunny Blog, where you can keep everyone up to date on your bunny and your life as a bunny slave and if you bunny would like to ask questions of other buns the Bunny Chat is the spot to be. The regional forum is a good way to find a rabbit savvy vet or to post places where you get some of your supplies for your bun etc. For the lighter side and to give you a chuckle or two stop by the go to the Let Your Hare Down section for anything but bunny's.

Flemish are great rabbits, I have several myself. Once you get bitten by the flemish bug there is no cure. You will be in love with the breed forever.;)

If you would like to post pictures in your post this link How to put photo's in your posts will help explain that.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you with info. This is a wonderful site and I look forward to seeing pictures of your bun and stories about her.

Dave
