Nala has only ever really eaten kale. occasionally, I'll catch her nibbling on something else, but never much of it unless it's the vein in the middle of lettuce and then only if she's in the mood.

tonight, she was working at her kale a bit oddly and was nomming for quite some time only to somehow leave what looked like most of a leaf behind when she was done. upon closer inspection, I saw this:

apparently we now only eat the RUFFLES of the kale. never mind that the rest of the leaf tastes the same as the ruffles; it's obviously somehow inferior.

Hahahah Buster does the same thing with his lettuce! He'll eat his salad and usually eats around the spine of the lettuce and leaves it behind / eats it last.
Funny how they do that eh... maybe the texture is nicer or something. :)

Buns are so particular! Sheesh. Apparently I chose poorly the last time I bought their hay because they refused to touch it, and normally they really enjoy their hay. They just throw it :)

see, I get leaving the spine/vein in the middle (gaz does that and won't even consider going back to it until after all the other veggies are eaten)... but the ruffles of the leaf are totally the same as the rest. I ate some myself to confirm and I'm as picky as Nala.

My bun won't eat the stalk of the kale. She'll only eat the leaf and then leave the stalk. So, I pull the leafy part off the stalk and give it to her so she doesn't have to leave it for me to find later.
She doesn't eat the rib part of some lettuces either. Maybe they don't like it because its harder or something.
Or they're all just weirdos.

Neither one of my rabbits will eat the middle stem of any leaf other than cilantro and parsely. They always leave it and never come back to it. Beauty goes a step further and will not eat ANY hay AT ALL. I have bought 2 full sized bales and 2 mini bales for her and she still refuses to eat any of it. It gets me really worried at times. She also barely drinks any water and hardely eats any pellets. When she is geven veggies she eats about 1/2 of them but then will not eat any more. I have been out of veggies for 2 days now (I keep meaning to go to the store but have not had the time even though the grocery store is less than a mile from my apt).
