Squish, the bunny that the neighbor kid found and brought to us (thinking it was ours), I took her to the vet today to check to see if she was chipped, she is not and to have her checked for ear mites, which she did not appear to have even though she shakes her head and scratches her left ear.
This morning when putting her in the carrier she was making noise that we refer to as bunny growling, she has been doing that lately and I attributed it to her being bitten by the other female bunnies the few times they have been out together. Then when lifting her, it felt like her teats were well developed or full. The vet poked around her belly and when I asked if she could be pregnant he said unlikely because she has been here about 3 weeks or so, my males are neutered, never with Squish etc. So he treated her with topical revolution stuff for possible mites (he said her ears and everything looked great) and any type of mange - this never occurred to me but I did notice that her coat was thin and patchy today.
So we get home, she is freaked as is the baby bun with weird teeth and the goopy eye, they peed all over each other :grumpy: Immediately my daughter runs out and says Squish pulled her hair out and made a nest in her litter box  :pssd:  :? :?
So do you think she is pregnant? If she was in labor and I interrupted her, what happens? I love this bunny and was quietly rejoicing her lack of chip.

We still have 9 seven week bunnies from Snowball :X

I'd believe she's pregnant.

"Not likely"?! Any female rabbit that's been loose is potentially pregnant in my book, until you KNOW they've had no exposure to fertile bucks for 35 days, she is potentially pregnant...Jeesh.

Ok, rant done...

Anyway, most likely she is pregnant, especially if she's pulling fur (unless that was from a fight...you mentioned the other rabbit and her both being freaked...). Just make sure she has a nest box and keep an eye on her.

It's possible that since she's stressed out she may cannibalize the litter, but that's always a possibility with any rabbit, especially new mothers.

I would say yep, pregnant. Like hillrise, I always say "default pregnant" unless you have ABSOLUTE proof that it is humanely impossible, which you do not, unfortunately!

(And EVEN THEN--I once had two rabbits mate through the cage, don't ask me how THAT happened.)

Since she already seems a bit wigged, I would definitely leave her alone and quiet as much as possible to have her babies in peace. Go in and check on her to make sure that all is well and right and for the most part leave her alone.

Good luck! Keep us posted!

She has made a nest in her litter box and is now pooping on her rug on her shelf.
On a positive note; she is not scratching her ear.

how much time usually passes between the pulling out of hair and birth? Beelza never pulled much hair, some but not much, Snowball pulled some before she was pregnant, she made a nest, then pulled tons in the hour or so before birth.
And it is weird because Squish still wants attention, she wants you to scratch her face and head but not hold her, and she still loves the dog.

She is out now...running around binkying and visiting the dog and whatever person comes into the room. Once they been thoroughly sniffed, chinned and have love on her, she goes and a happy bunny flop under the dinning table.

No. She still feels like she has full teats but no babies. She also still makes the growly noises when you poke you hands near her but instantly lays her head down for scratches and rubs. She is very friendly out of her cage, binkies and lays with you.

I believe milk doesnt come in until AFTER the babies are born. I've does who you can feel their teats before every being exposed to a buck. I would completely ignore that she even has teats.

You've brought her in to your rabbits, you have addmitted they have fought, she was running 'wild'. The rabbit is nuts in the head. And possibly just the smell of the 'bucks' could make her pull the hair and have a false pregnancy. If she would be 3 weeks along, you can palpate kinda easily. I'm bad at it but if you feel around in the stomach long enough you could probably feel 'rocks'.

My males are neutered, would that cause the same reaction? I've tried feeling around her belly, she gets really unpleasant when you do that.
I'm keeping eye on her but i think it was a false alarm. She is out a lot because she is so sweet, however i think she has determined we are hers now... since taking her to the vet and bringing her home because chins everything and now lays next to Nutmeg's just to piss her off lol. Nutmeg nips her and pulls out tufts of Squish's hair, to this Squish sits up, grooms her bald spots then flops back down. Hahaha Nutmeg is in a huff. I cannot wait to have them spayed!

So, I am fairly certain Squish just wishes she was pregnant because she is "flirting" with Cookie, who is doing his best to "help" despite is lack of testicles lol. She mounts him, then he her, then they chase each other. Madness.
