I got my first horse, Wildfire, in November of 2010. I grew up in Chicago, IL and moved to the country in September of 2010. I always loved horses but growing up in the city there weren't really any opportunities to be around them. I did take lessons one summer but I couldn't afford them for long. Moving to where I am living now (Arkansas) was the best thing that ever happened to me, for many reasons. One big reason was that I got to pursue my dream of having horses. It was a dream come true to be blessed with ONE horse, and now I have 2 beauties in my life.
The story of how I got my new horse was that I had been wanting another and saving up but I was waiting for the right one. Wildfire has been boarded at a wonderful place for the past 2 years and my family and I are moving to a farm with 30 acres and once I get fencing up I will finally be able to have him with me. The owner of his boarding place texted me Wednesday night asking if I was interested in another gelding. I wound up seeing him and buying him the next day! He is getting along beautifully with Wildfire despite them both being dominant horses. I named my new horse Luka. He is an approximately 13 year old pinto. He wasn't broke until he was 8 or so but you wouldn't be able to tell. He is SO sweet, calm, sociable, well trained, etc. So much so that someone offered me $3,000 today for him minutes after meeting him. I only paid $200 for him which was a total steal! I wouldn't sell him or my other horse for anything tho. When I get an animal I get them for life.
My other horse, Wildfire, was abused before I got him and both him and Luka are so important to me.
I will try and post pics of Luka tonight, and of Wildfire if you want to see him too!
