Hi, I'm from Seattle and I'm a first-time rabbit owner. I just got an 8-month-old Flemish Giant from a rescue earlier this week. I named her Charlotte and she weighs 14.5 lbs right now. She had already been spayed, had been a house bunny before she was surrendered to the rescue, and it just seemed too perfect to be true! Well, turns out it was - about a day after adopting her she came down with conjunctivitis.
I rushed her to the vet and later informed the rescue. She lost her appetite and energy, so she gave me a huge scare, but she's since perked up and it seems her antibiotics are working. I guess it was kind of a "trial by fire" for me in rabbit ownership! (Thanks for everyone who gave me advice when I posted in the Infirmary).
Charlotte is feeling much better now! Earlier today she was enjoying tossing a plastic toy boat around and she put it in her water dish.
I'm looking forward to learning more about bunnies and reading about other peoples' bunnies on the forums!
