Hey guys recently had to get new pellets for my 8 week old mini lop as I ran out of the pellets the breeder gave me when I got her... I was told Oxbow is a good brand so I her the Oxbow Alfalfa pellets... put them in her bowl (small amount as I didn't know to give her bit of both to get her used to it so she doesnt get sick) but she hates them.. I was told that it might take her a few days to want them and to mix it with something she likes so I mixed it with a bit of lucerne hay in her bowl (her favourite) and she picked out the lucurne and didnt touch the pellets...

So I went to a pet store yesterday and tried to find her something else... I got her these, is this ok? She really likes them!! But i am only giving in very short amounts at the moment so it doesn't upset her too much...

These are her poo's after one feeding of it...

Is this ok? is this because its a change in her diet? Is this normal??
She is also having oaten hay and bit of lucerne hay and she eats hay quite well. and plenty of water of course.

PLEASE HELP

Yeah looks fine.
Just watch out for digestive upset as in diarrhea. Those poops look normal. Aslong as shes getting some lucerne in her diet as a baby. Then switching her to timothy or grass hay based pellet and cutting out lucerne based pellets and lucerne hay when shes around 6months

The protein and fibre count seems a little low for a growing bun, I would give her more lucerne hay to make up for the protein and a bit of oaten hay is good too for fibre. Otherwise it seems fine. :)

They'll be ok, they're fescue and lucerne based I believe. I've seen them before. If you want to switch to the oxbow, just persist in putting in a couple of oxbow pellets with the Vetafarm ones you feed everyday and your rabbit will eventually get used to them :) It's difficult to find good pellets in this country, Vetafarm by comparison is one of the better ones I believe.

Thanks heaps everyone, for your replies :)

The reason I showed a photo of the poo is because its a little soft, they aren't hard. Is this because the change of diet for her? Will they continue to stay soft?
Sorry I didn't mention that in the comment before.

How much did you give her of those new pellets? Did you make any other food changes like feeding more alfalfa? I would for sure at least reduce the amount for now. You don't want to be seeing soft fecal poop. If this is something that continues with these pellets, no pellets is better than feeding ones that cause digestive upset for your bun.

I gave her a small amount of the Oxbow alfalfa pellets on Thursday when I got them and she didn't touch them so I removed them and went got new pellets yesterday (the ones shown up top) which she seems to like but I'm only giving them to her in a small amount because I don't want to upset her..

Could I mix both pellets together and see if she will eat the alfalfa ones?
Her poops used to be round and quite hard and since I have been offering her the new Vetafarm ones.. her poops are still round but I can squeeze them between my finger....

How much is a 'small amount' and about how much do you think she weighs?

Hi there, sorry about the late reply!!!

She gets this amount:

I do increase amount each day... her poos are looking normal as well which is good.
I'm not sure what she weighs because she won't let me pick her up without squirming or wanting to jump and I don't want her to hurt herself.. what is an easy way??
