I touched on this with my blog but for those that don't visit the Silversong Farm blog, my baby miniature horse foal arrived yesterday... shipping in the backseat of my truck and what a trooper she was.

I forgot how much I loved baby horses. Her breeder sent me a ton of pics of when she was first born and her first few months of growing up. She still has the baby horse smell... similar (but not the same) as a new puppy.

She has the same coloration of my late Belgian mare, Liberty... yet I don't think she is much bigger than my 3 year old Labrador Retriever.

Going out to update pics of bunnies, horses and adding Saoirse so you can put a face to the name.

She is getting a bit cheeky - she charged at Weatherly with ears back - luckily the gates separated them.

Mercy is warming up to her so she might be the first horse I turn Saoirse out with.

It is like having a new baby - I am checking on her constantly. :)

Tim spent time with her today - he calls her "Soto Mayor" and "midget horse" but Saoirse got in his face and nipped at him and followed him around...and Tim seemed to like it... almost as much as his Lab, Quinn.

"She's a princess, isn't she?" he asked as she snuggled up to him. Quinn licked Saoirse's nose and it seemed to make things OK although I got the look from Saoirse that said "Is it Ok if he tastes me?"

All is quiet on the hill this evening.
