Hello everyone! New to the forums but not entirely new to rabbits. When I was younger I had a Mini Rex and learned a lot back then through trial and error. However, it's been a long time and I don't know a lot about breed types other than the obvious easily distinguishable breeds.
If anyone has any clue what he may be, it'd be appreciated.
PS: Ignore the fact that he posed next to a battery. He was in a nearby park in the picture.
Anyway, I just got this bun a few weeks ago on a temporary basis from a woman who had bought him for a classroom at least a year before(she said "I don't recall" a lot when I asked her anything at all relating to the little guy)! It really upset me. He was in a very small cage with filthy bedding. They'd been feeding him cereal and looked at me like I was dumb when I asked if he'd been getting any hay.
Needless to say I decided to take him home and get him squared away. Unfortunately this was right around the Easter holiday and lots of people want rabbits to stuff baskets but inevitably not care for... so finding anyone to take him would be a trial(and I have my fair share of critters already!). So far he was very shortly housed with two different people that seemed like good fits.. but one just decided she didn't want the extra work and the other was letting his cats play with the rabbit day ONE without any adjustment period and the cats were being jerks to him.. so he lunged at one of them. Can you really blame him?
Now he is back with me.. and we have decided enough is enough. My fiance gave me his support on keeping him.. so he's all mine now. Working on setting up an exercise pen corner for him to spend a majority of his time frolicking in. Very excited and love all the ideas I have seen on this site so far(kinda been lurking a while.)
Now.. to decide on a name. I found it very amusing when the lady brought him to me because they had a dog food bowl in the cage with him.. and it says "Killer." A little too macho? I don't know. We'll see. It may just stick.
