I just got a new bunny about 3 days ago.Everytime I first come up to his cage(to take himout)he does a 180, or 360 in the air and pees at the sametime. So urine sprays everwhere. He has done this once ortwice outside of his cage when we are just walking around the yard.

When he first gets out he does dozens of circlesaround me, puts his front paws on my legs and just stares. Hedoes that a few times.

I am not sure why he doesany of these things. If anyone knows, please tell me.

Welcome aboardredvelvet,

The circling you is a way of flirting with you. Check out theCheat Sheet for Rabbit Care post at the top of the forum, go toLanguage of Lagamorphs link. I'm sure you'll find it veryinteresting on what different bunny behaviors are.

Sounds like your little guy is spraying the area, claiming it ashis. Have you neutered him? Usually neuteringdecreases this need to mark everything, but there are no guarantees.

Our Benji did the same thing when he matured.

Sprayed his entire cage, the buns next to him, the carpet, the walls, the furniture, the hamsters, the dog, us........anything within 10 feetwas open game!!

After we had him neutered his stopped spraying completely. He now has immaculate litter habits, as well.

No guarantees for this to happen with other buns, though.

:~) Jim
