I have a lady coming to buy two rabbits. They're not babies, but she's never had rabbits before. Does anyone know where I could get a "care sheet" to send home with her? Or should I just make my own? I do want to add helpful website links for her, including this site (it's been invaluable to me!!). I'm also including an ARBA membership brochure and membership form, PaSRBA, and the LRCA ones. Anything else I'm missing?

TIA!!

I'm working on writing a care guide for the SPCA that I'm volunteering for. So far it's almost 200 pages, so obviously editing is still needed. This is the list of what I recommend. If you see anything obviously missing please let me know and I will add.

The house rabbit society has a nice basic packet that is 16 pages long on their web site.

I had written up a care sheet for a friend who bunny-sat with Scone while I was away for a few weeks, which I called "The Scone Protocol". I covered the basics of caring for a rabbit, and indicated Scone's preferences and expectations. It's fairly specific, and needs to be updated a bit, but can easily be customized.

You can download it at:

Thanks, guys!! I'm going to combine a bit, add some of my own (since Romeo was my #1 love, but needs a home where he'll get more attention). I just hope the woman likes them...she sounds really nice!

And darn, Mike! That's a lot of information for Scone. And I thought mine were spoiled! lol

Thanks Wendy for posting this thread. As a future breeder, I think it would be in my best interest as well as the people purchasing my bunnies to know what I've done to get them to their place in life. Lots of good examples to peruse.

Good for you Mike. You know your Natasha. A little bit of extra time putting down all she likes and dislikes, makes it so much easier for those watching your Natasha. Plus it doesn't put her off either. I'd do the same thing. Trying to keep her life as normal as possible while you are gone, and knowing she is missing you. Though OK with strangers or friends, nothing beats good ole Dad.

K :)
