Hello,

My name is Edel. On Saturday night my boyfriend brought a bunny home. He was going to be put down because he had some gooky/milky stuff on his eye. He fits in the palm of my hand and we assume he is about 4 to 6 weeks old.

I cleaned the bunny's eye gently with some water and the milky stuff has not returned.

He seems a happy little guy......has the run of the house and is being watched carefully. Hope to get him potty trained. He sits on the couch with us and runs doing his bunny hops and little runs. He will run on the back of the couch, jump onto my chest and shoulders, lick my face like 20 times and run around again. He follows me around the house and will come to me when I call him.

Have been doing a lot of reading on line and am very excited to have him.

I do have a wondering question..... :) Will he ever become diurnal versus nocturnal? Is that something he can learn? I know from having had rats as pets before, they did change in that situation.

Welcome to the forum! Me name is Sarah I show and breed Tan Rabbits in Texas :)

Rabbits can be geared towards that way just like cats and dogs by just altering their daily schedules. If you let them play, run, and binky more right before night then give them dinner it is only natural for them to then sleep at night.

It sounds like the little guy is pretty social already. My Flemish is 3+ years and she prefers to be out of her room when we are home and we both work during the day so she does sleep while we are gone. When she was younger she was very loud and active at night and she still is if she doesn't get a lot of playtime. On my days off she rattles her door to get out and hangs with us and she will hang all day until dinner time. I usually let her stay out until 10:00 everynight or later if I am feel like staying up late. I put her away at night with her dinner. From what you described I don't think he will have anytime adjusting to your schedule.

Hello Sarah,

Thank you so much.

We are thoroughly enjoying him. He is so active and seems so happy. But he does hate going to bed at night so far. LOL We are totally in love with him. Will be taking him in for his first vet check up here in the next few days.

Welcome to the forum! Make sure you read some of the articles in the Library section because they'll help you out a lot!

Once you figure out how to post pictures, we'd love to see the little Mr. Bean!! :D

Thanks everyone. He is such a love.....we are so in love with him already. I know it will take time and work, but am sure willing to do that and learn as much as I can to give him the best home he can have.

Let's see if I can figure out the picture posting. lol

AH....got it. hehe So the first night I put him in a box on the dining room table because I was not ready for him. The next day he was not in the box and nowhere to be seen. I was sure he must have jumped off the table and hurt himself. I finally looked up to the table and there he was, in my purse. :)

I know, isn't he the cutest. lol He's a really tiny rabbit. He fits in the palm of my hand. We're thinking he must be about four or five weeks old?
