Hello fellow Texan and rabbit slave!

I'd say the best advice you can get can be found all over this forum! Check out all the stickies (threads that are highlighted yellow at the top of each forum page) and scroll through any topics that are of interest to you in particular.

If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us! We are always happy to help.

Do you know your bunny's age?

Some basics:
- Gizmo should have access to hay 24/7 (alfalfa up to 7 months, Timothy after that - can give other hays for variety)
- Gizmo should have alfalfa-based pellets before 7 months and Timothy after. Most people feed 1/4C pellets daily to dwarf bunnies to keep them from getting overweight, but part of that depends on your rabbit's size.
- Rabbits love to chew and should have things to chew on and keep them busy and entertained. Cardboard boxes or TP rolls filled with hay provide food and enrichment all at once. There's also a great selection of wicker/edible toys at most pet stores that sell small animal supplies.
- Bunny-proofing. There is a lot of information about it online and it's incredibly important for both you and Gizmo.
- Fresh vegetables. It's wise to look up what's safe and what isn't for rabbits before you start giving them vegetables. After that you can introduce a veggie a week and build up portion size during each veggie's week until Gizmo's digestive system is accustomed to each vegetable.
- Letting your rabbit out to run and socialize everyday is very good for their physical development and mental state.
- On that last note, make sure Gizmo's cage meets size requirements. A bunny without adequate stretching room will be very sad, indeed. Not to mention it gets messy fast. Ha ha! The more room they have, the better.
- Bunny's nails need to be clipped regularly just like a dog's nails do.
- Litter training can make clean-up a bit easier on you. You can look into the housing section to get tips and tricks on how to litter train your rabbit.

Most of all, have fun with your rabbit and your rabbit will have fun with you! I'm sure you will do great and Gizmo will have a very happy life with you.

And don't forget to spam us with pictures. I see this little cutie in your avatar and I'm excited to see more of him! Adorable!

Kelli gave you some great advice and tips. Gizmo should be neutered at around 5 months to keep his docile personality and to prevent unwanted habits like humping and spraying. A intake buck will spray urine to make territory. But enjoy him and yes spam away with pictures of the little sweetie.

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.

Hey another Texan! Wahoo! Welcome! Congrats on the bunny, I'm so nuts about bunnies it's pathetic. They are so worth it though! I love my dog and I love my cats but my bunnies are just something so special to me. Can't really explain it.
