I saw this on the ARBA Facebook and was interested to see what yall would (if you could) create as far as a new breed or variety.

If I had a bigger barn I would love to make the Britannia Petite have as many colors recognized as the Netherland Dwarfs.

I would also love to see more harlequin and tri colored breeds. I know they are out there but if only they were recognized. They're beautiful

What about a Polish in Tan markings? Love the black Tans!

Lions and English lops lol Either lops with manes or tiny lionheads with huge ears lol
Good luck with that one. Please keep us informed. What I've seen out there with tiny lionheads with huge floppy ears, cute but definitely odd. And I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just odd that a Lion Head with a Mane having huge ears. I don't associate lions, which this breed is supposed to depict, with long ears. Maybe it's just me. And it has nothing to do with my desire for double mane.

Keep us posted. I did post something to help with your breeding black with sable point. Is this the crew you will start your long floppy eared lion heads?

Lol no I'm not really doing this. If their was a breed I could make this would be it! I hate pure lions with large ears!

LOL i like all of these ideas. I think the satin wooly could really work. Like a satin angora you mean? Beautiful animals.

I liked how some had said before to make a mini chekered giant. Those would be cute and much easier to handle lol

I wish i could make another variety of tans (not sure if it'd be accepted by the atrsc) but maybe a REW or something with the tan on bottom crazy or even a BEW

Dutch in Rex fur!

This would be cool! :)

One thing I would love to see is more breeds that are unique, not just for their fur or colour type, but also their body types. So many breeds have such similar body types that you could put any fur or colour on them and you'd never know what breed they were.

Yes, I'm looking at you, Rex and Satin. ;)

I'd like to see more breeds with as distinct features as the English Lop. They're instantly recognizable no matter what colour or what type of fur with their long ears and mandolin body shape. You could even cross them with another breed and you'd still know the offspring were descended from an English Lop.

Rue that would make it so much easier for us to tell people what breed there mix bunny is lol

LOL Larry Let me know if you find it!

I would love to get harlequin dutch passed i know tons of people have them. I think they're pretty.

Actually right now with the Certificate of Developments out if the Lion Lop gets its full COD first, regular Lionheads will no longer be allowed.... Just a note. Also because it is not a recognized breed, I do not believe they can be considered purebred because the Standard changed on the NEW (taken out in 2011) COD.

What I would create is a Satin Mini Lop. In all accepted Satin varieties, starting with white and red.
All standards of the Mini Lop with the addition of the Satin Fur.(I am actually trying to do this right now with a Mini Lop I have.)

Really? Not what I heard. And that's not what's going to happen. You need a Lion Head to have a Lion Lop.

What was changed was the skirt length, not the ears. They accepted the dual mane that's all.

Sorry can't ignore the fact that a Lion Lop is bred to a Lion head. And I studied the head of a lion. And it's appearance. And lop doesn't stand a chance.

I'm not looking to start any trouble, but the Line is only common sense. You can not have a lop lion without a lion. But then again we live in a PC world and anything goes.

But I will continue with MY Purebred Lion Head and will develop it the way it should be developed as per it's originator. Shame he passed away before this GREAT breed and project was complete.

There's more genetic information in this gentleman's research than any other rabbit breed period. This breed is amazing. And if challenge is necessary, I'll challenge.

K :)

Because neither are an accepted breed yet, whichever gets COD first is the recognized breed. All other Lionheads will be removed. ARBA states it. Whichever makes it to full status first is it.
